Just because you post a deal first

That really shouldnt make you the poster of that deal. Theres a lot of crappy deals posted with no info or detail put into them. Sometimes just a link and thats it because they are a bot and made a script.

When mods merge subsequent threads please also take into consideration the quality of the post not just the date/ time stamp.

If someone posts a deal that really looks lousy and 5 seconds later someone posts the same deal in a nice format with all the info clear and concise the person who took time to make it look nice should get top billing.

This would encourage better posts overall and improve the quality of whats being posted. Hell it might cut down on reposts because they took time instead of rep whoring.

Yeah it be easy if the world was so polar opposites, but it isn't. What happens when you have someone that posts a "clear and concise" vs someone who posts a slightly more "clear and concise" what do you then? The reason its time based is its the most concrete conclusive way of dealing with repost situations. Doing it any other way would result in vagueness and ambiguity.

I just think if its a few seconds apart you should go with the one that has a little more thought put into it rather than the automated bot scripted one that contains 0 detail or thought or hell was even searched to see if its a repost.

Thats not exactly easy to ready yet its concise.. I'm not saying its a perfect system and I appreciate the ideas for making things better, but this isn't one of them.

i agree with the timestamp policy

I also agree with the timestamp policy - it is the easiest way to keep the judging and opinions out of the mix. A lot of people including myself post a hot deal quick to get it up and then go back and edit it. This secures your time and date if it is really important to you.

timestamp policy is fine - that way if someone searches for a deal before posting it, they will find the deal, and they can be the 2nd poster with all the good information, and will receive rep for the information on that post

that said, perhaps we should ban bots though
