Should be fine in any average car that takes 5w30 oil and you do approx 5,000 mile oil changes on.

Wouldn't trust this on a turbo or if your car has an extended (e.g 15,000 mile) interval and you plan to follow that.

It's API certified, so it can be used in any car that takes 5w30.

Any car that takes 5w-30 will have no problem with this oil. Just follow your manufacturer's recommended oil change interval or 5,000 miles if you don't know it.

You can always switch from conventional to synthetic, and you can always switch back. The "synthetic causes leaks" thing is mostly BS, but if your car is already leaking it might accelerate it a bit.

This and other synthetics will protect your engine better than conventional oil, they just are not always worth the cost. Can't really beat this though, can you?

Why would you question if this oil is "safe"?? Are you a petroleum engineer that knows something that all the engineers and API engineers does not know?

No, it does not smell like prime rib. More like filet mignon.

That ticking could have been something as simple as a stuck HLA, so yeah, if you dumped it for a low price, it may well have been a mistake.
