yup changed my oil on a 95 Isuzu rodeo to synthethic from dino oil and a week later the head gasket leaked and the engine started clicking loudly sold it with 125K. Worse mistake I ever made but live and learn.

I just can't believe people buy into this!

I'm not advocating synthetic oil. I rarely use it. I only use it if the cost is right.

All these posts about viscosity and engine tolerances I believe have come from people who have never torn into an engine! Or maybe have done it once!

There is soooo much more to this! But the one thing that HAS changed the most in the last 20 years is the oil itself. Today's conventional Dino oil is as good as the synthetic oil from 20 years ago.
Sorry to get my dander up, but this is an area I have experience and knowledge in.

Sure it does not maybe directly cause leaks, but due to it's better cleansing ability it can remove deposits that have been there for a long time that conventional oil does not take care of and in turn a leak can occur if that part of the seal was wearing out already. Of course it is compatible with seal and gasket materials, etc.

People can make their own judgement call on it and it will be on them if things go awry.

This is group III oil, "fully synthetic" in USA is just marketing name, in reality it is just purified mineral oil, like Mobil 1 "full synthetic". It is still better than conventional oil.

It has been 3 months, I am still waiting for my $20 rebate. Called the number on the rebate form, there was no live person to talk to. Just had to leave a message and it said it would forward the message to the proper dept. Never got any return call or email reply.

Unlike other rebates that have dedicated websites or phone numbers for you to check your rebates, you have to call G oil directly to follow up on the rebates.

You are taking a big risk if the rebate is the only reason you are buying G oil. I will never buy G oil again.

I did not receive my $26 rebate from last Auguest.
No response for my email nor voice message.

I did this 3 times and got all of my rebates. I haven't used the oil yet, but in for another one

Picked up one today for $25+tax -- dont really care about SM vs SN so I grabbed whatever was on the shelf (SM version, UPC 811001011656)

All the G-oil jugs on the shelf had a small layer of dust on them so I guess no one wants them lol

Can I use this oil in BMW 530i 2007 model?

I hope you're planning on doing a full change soon, because it's a bad idea to store motor oil for extended periods of time. What happens is that they slowly begin to break down, get waxy, and thicken.

i don thtink that happens to oil where the seal isnt broken

That takes a least a year, and most manufacturers say 2 years. In truth, it is probably longer. Also I think synthetic is slower to break down this way.
