Church attendance is down? You just made my night.
![]() How exactly does this equal a decline in Christianity? ![]() I'll be the first to throw a party if Churchianity ever dies but please, for crying out loud, don't equate church attendance with a belief in Christ. I'd guess that a lot of believers have wised up to the scam that is the church system, at least I can hope. |

But the general trend is away from Christian belief all across the European world. The polls were not skewed, biased, oversampled or wrong. I was. There was no wave, no landslide, I was wrong about that too. Nate Silver is the gold standard of polling analysis.

Here's an interesting article I found that may highlight what's really happening: http://www.christianpo

Is that just incredibly dry sarcasm, or did you really not know what Protestant meant? That would be like saying Galileo's ideas were quickly embraced by the Catholic church.

Perhaps visiting Nietzsche on this subject would be beneficial...Im just gonna use Wikipedia for this...feel free to add better accounts of Nietzsche.
And perhaps the Postmodern is more current to our times and stage of Nihilism.

It seems to me that their are both "active and passive nihilists" on this forum with regards to Christendom.
Some are trying to construct or are supportive of the construction of a new Atheo-Scientismist Hedonist Humanism even to the point of creating alternative revisionist histories to support the endeavor and constructing new myths.....the 2 varieties are Libertarianism and Communism/Socialism/Marxist derived philosophies. Others seem to not much care to build a damn thing are happy with meaningless bauble acquistition and pleasure seeking....which makes sense on a site like Slickdeals. |

charles- Look, I know you mean well. You have strong beliefs and you believe it is important for others to share them. I do believe you are sincere. I think you should use this time to do some reading and research. Try to use objective sources (not ones you already suspect with support your beliefs). At the least you will be more informed about your positions. Perhaps you will even change them. But you aren't doing yourself or your cause any favors by trying to defend this right now.
