RITE AID CHAT THREAD

This thread is being created for us to come and talk/chat. The Rite Aid Deals thread is for the deal talk. So hopefully this thread will help decrease the off topic chatter in the deals thread and we all have a place to chat with each other. nod

Wanted to add that this chat group will follow the same rules of the Lounge. Rules are located here: http://slickdeals.net/forums/showthread.php?sduid=0&t=1091306

Have you been eating any Mariani cherries? I bought some more when my stash ran out...not at that great price we got before, unfortunately.

But I feel like it's ok to blow $$ on fruit - better than eating junk food, you know!

Oh boy, you just mentioned 2 foods that I love together! Cherries and dark chocolate!!! Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!!!!
Licklips

ETA: I also need to put up the reviews of the natural candy bars I bought recently at Whole Foods (yeah, Blush2 I already tried most of them already! LOL!)

But dang, I am tired. I got a little cold this weekend - not a big deal. My throat is very sore and can I say that I am so sick of throat drops? I've been eating them all day and don't want to see another lozenge!

But, p.s. I am still eating Rodent food...lol...ate some delicious Havarti tonight! Whee

My stash of Mariani fruit is long gone, alas. But I still remember about your pineapple advice and try to have some canned or frozen pineapple regularly.hug

The free (as a filler when rolling) cheese at Wags this week might be a generic kind, but as a rodent I'm all over it anyway. Hadn't been to Wags since January but wouldn't you know it that cheese would bring me back Big Grin

Glad you are still doing the pineapple thing! Have you found it helping your sinuses? I keep both the Dole little cans of pineapple juice as well as their canned pineapple in my house. Actually, I think I will go drink some of that pineapple juice right now!

LOL, I totally am with you on cheese deals. I got a decent deal on a variety of Lucerne at Safeway with a sale and a q about a month ago. But, sadly, the Lucerne goat cheese is nowhere near the tastiness of the Alouette, which is now a REALLY high price - like $5-$6 for a tiny thing. Dang me and my expensive food tastes! Thank goodness I am super cheap when it comes to other things - i.e. I will use whatever is free for soap, bodywash, toothpaste, etc.

I think my sinuses are better. May be warmer weather, too. Smilie Or maybe it's the pineapple. You don't know any good deals on it right now (juice or fruit)? Even with the doublers at Albies right now, it's still 99c for a tiny can. I did buy some at this price yesterday and felt like an unslick dealer. Now I'm wondering... Does Wags carry pineapple fruit or juice? Now that my two stores have been wiped out (by me) of those little cheddar blocks (I have enough shredded from a previous deal somewhere), pineapple might be a next "useful product to buy" with NE, Similasan and Pepsi. Big Grin

Wow, I actually never thought to buy the pineapple juice or fruit at Wags. Will definitely have to check next time I'm there. My first instinct says, "Nah, they wouldn't carry it." But then again, they carry a fairly extensive selection of dried fruits and chocolates, so I will have to look!

And, no, sadly, I haven't seen any good deals on it in awhile. I got a great deal on the fruit cans at Albs, but that was many months ago. I don't think I've ever gotten a great deal on the juice - I just usually buy it at Sfwy when I have the .50 coupon and double it.

Aldi had all Easter candy 50 cents. They were out of the little ladybugs, so I got a Palmer Peter Rabbit. Then I found another PPR at Target last night for 39 cents, I think it was -- 90% off the shaped and boxed candy, although the bags were still at 50%.

An offtopic question

Can anyone suggest a nice rice cooker?

thanks
I have this one [amazon.com], and honestly, I wouldn't recommend it. I agree with the reviews about it burning the bottom of the rice, making a crust. (I actually like the taste of the crust for a snackie, but it does waste rice.)

Before this one, I had a smaller model with a glass lid that did not lock on. It clattered and spattered the whole time it was cooking. The locking models also release steam, but usually in one direction only. I recommend the locking type, and nondigital -- the kind with one button that pops up when it's done and lowers the heat.

Aroma and Zojirushi seem to get good reviews. I'd go for one of those if I were buying again. The Zojis are pretty pricey; Aromas are more in line with Oster et al. (I happen to have the Oster because I found it on clearance at Kmart.)

... I am looking to color my hair at home. I was blonde, went dark brown at the salon and now want to color at home. I do not have greys (yet!) but rather just like the look of a rich chocolate brown, rather than my mousey brown natural shade. What brands do you girls use? What ever is free/cheap, or do you try to get a deal on a particular brand. Thanks!
Any tips on choosing the correct shade would also be great
I don't color my hair often, so I love the ease of any of the "comb" bottles -- like Perfect 10 -- although I like a certain color of Colorsilk. (I do red/strawberry blonde.) My sister uses a brown, though, and one thing she found is that "medium" brown is pretty dark.

Wait, what? Pineapple and sinuses? Please share again ... I don't remember this! (I am having a raging sinus headache after working outdoors for several hours today. Already did cetirizine, two doses of aspirin (3 hours apart) and finally Sudafed PE Sinus Headache. It still hurts. Poor me. Sadwalk

I never have a problem while I'm actually outdoors. It hits an hour or so after I come inside. I need to find out if one of my Nielmed deals was the syringe-type nasal washer -- two people recommended them this weekend, said they're preferable to the neti pot. I think I have one upstairs. And I have half a case of bottled water that needs to be used up. nod

Finally caught up on the current drama. At least it's a break from the crash scene. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)

Think I'll go stare at a TV across the room instead of a computer screen a foot away ... probably easier on my eyes. And maybe eating the rest of Peter Rabbit will help ... Coverlaugh

If CVS was really smart, they'd put a basket of rocks with upc codes on them at the registers, priced 10 cents to 89 cents each, because morons like me would buy them as fillers just to get out of the store faster.

Yes. It's great for dry sinuses.

I PMd Big Rodent a while back with a long list of things that work for sinus problems - I had sinus issues for years and tried many things so I suppose I've been a good test dummy for natural methods of what works and what doesn't. LOL

Am going to bed right now cause this cold is kicking my butt, but I can share more with you in the a.m. Smilie

But a quick note - you can take the supplement Bromelain. That might reduce the cost issue for you. It's basically extract of pineapple. I have a bottle of the pills - got it from Whole Foods and I don't think it was too spendy. I personal prefer to take the juice or fruit directly, but the pills are definitely convenient for working.

ETA: AkaGeorge - your post came through just as I was going to bed. In a.m. I promise I will give a thorough list of things that help with sinus troubles. I had horrid problems & the meds actually just seemed to be either ineffective after awhile or actually made things worse.
