... also, when ur trying to learn, not only is it important to use the glove, WEAR A T-SHIRT or something that does NOT expose your shoulders. i have learned from my mistake last year... the day before my friend's wedding (actually when i was getting ready for rehearsal lunch) i put on a spaghetti strap dress and then decided to curl my hair (with herstyler). at some point, i accidentally burned my shoulder, leaving a HUGE burn mark on my shoulder. you can see it in all the wedding photos i was in (i covered it with glamoflauge but it wasn't enough Frown ). let me see if i can post an example. (luckily we put on a pashmina thing so it covered it during the ceremony - should have worn the pashmina all day!)

haha moral of the story - wear a shirt that covers your shoulders.
That isn't fun, burns are always awful. Often the most superficial ones are the most painful. If you think that is a bad burn, never get into welding and fabrication. I had an accident with a plasma torch and had over 2 square inches of skin just gone with a 2nd degree burn in fractions of a second. I'm really clumsy though.

Btw, have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters? I read rave reviews for them online so I decided to give them a shot. I really like! It's a nice sheer color payoff and doesn't dry out my lips like lipstick does. Girly
I cannot decide on a color, which is why I have not tried it. Glad to hear someone likes it.

i'm not sure how dry conditioner would work... i can see how dry shampoo just sucks up oil, but dry conditioner? sounds like an oxymoron.
Any brunettes had success with dry shampoos?

vs somehow thinks my bday (which has been in june for 10+ years) has now moved to may. not sure if this is good or bad. but i guess i have some bday codes to use! they should really just move my bday to april then, so i can coincide it with src's! laugh out loud
I had no idea you were so young. Hahaha

How many inch diameter round brush is best for longer than shoulder length hair? I can't seem to manage using a round brush and a blowdryer simultaneously, but I am going to give it a try. Maybe I just need the right brush. Recommendations?
I loathe holding a blow dryer. Years ago, I bought a Seen on TV item, Hair Made Hair Dryer Stand, from CVS. It is an adjustable stand that you velco your hair dryer on, so you have both hands free.

Don't feel bad. hug I would be upset, if I had that facing me too. Yay, for your eBay success. :w oot:

:comf ort:

Fortunately we were saving for a house, so we were able to use that money. Our down payment on the house was less than we wanted to put down, but we were blessed to have the money at all. Between the two, our savings was wiped out & we had to start over. I just feel fortunate that the money was there, when we had to have it.
Thanks hug I haven't been selling a ton on eBay, but I've made a few hundred this last 2 weeks without really trying. Anything helps right now!

We have some cash in our savings, but after the 3 months I was just off of work, it's really low. We're also just starting 401k's (late in life - I know!) and trying to get a down payment together for a house. Being in your late 20's seems like everything is JUST out of reach, and when you can brush it with your fingertips, a strong wind comes and blows it away again.

I guess it makes you work harder? laugh out loud

I hope things are better for your back. I still think it is crazy Frown

right, i wanted to comment about hospital bills. and there was one thing i want to say Faint

we paid only $300 oop for all of it when we had the baby, thank goodness! but i think of dh's salary deductions to for this medical insurance.

i wish i could pull out the Whip irl to make everyone Reading
We're lucky compared to most, we have a $3k maximum OOP for the year. My delivery was around $20k and my responsibility was about $1,500. We've had a few other major things this year too - and we haven't hit the OOP max yet.

Have you guys thought of offshore medical procedures?
It is usually offered with some travel package too -You not only save money, you get to see a new country too and get better service than you would get in here for that much money.

Those are offered in various countries and those hospitals are of international standards and so are their doctors.

GH, I do not know about your condition but if you can fly you should consider that option.
Kate, you can may be take a vacay with you baby and hubby and come back in that money with your procedure done. I am sure you can fly with your dental problems laugh out loud and you can do eBay from anywhere if you do not want a break there Wink
This is a really good idea, I just don't know if it is feasible due to work, kid, and hubby. The other thing is that I am PETRIFIED of the dentist and I finally found one I am comfortable with that I trust won't hurt me. That is worth whatever he charges! Plus, I would be worried about a language barrier laugh out loud I'd come home with some really jacked up silver and gold grill or something!!

I have wondered about that dryer holder for years - does it actually work?!

Oh, I use dry shampoo and am a brunette, but I have to REALLY brush my hair afterwards. Like, a LOT. I use Klorane dry shampoo...I like it Smilie

I teach a night class, and I have several students who came back to school. However, they don't respect me very much. I really wish I looked just a little older. My traditional undergrads like me a lot and come by to chat, but the older ones aren't so into it...but I think it's also partly the nature of the class.
What do you teach?

I totally hear you; this is exactly how I feel. I'm selling on eBay, too, and everything I make gets dumped into a joint savings account that BF and I have.

We're both still in grad school--he just defended his Master's thesis a couple weeks ago and is looking for a job--and I have two years to go, so everything seems like it takes so much longer (and our incomes are obviously super modest). We're trying to save for a down payment while getting a somewhat decent rate on rent. But we'll both have student loans, etc., to pay off eventually so it just seems never-ending. We'll be getting married in late 2014, so it's not like we have to figure out home-owning and other "adult" stuff right now, but we like to get a head start.

It's easy to get frustrated and overwhelmed, I think. Everything costs money and life always throws curveballs. We're both in our mid-to-late 20s, so it's the "phase" of life, too, where everything seems just out of reach. hug

I use Alterna [sephora.com], love it. It smells great! Just like someone else said, you really have to brush it out so it doesn't leave white markings in your hair.

And for me, what makes it even seem like it's even a tad more impossible is that the fact that friends that are my age - mid 20s have lavish weddings, taking crazy vacations every few months, and are buying houses like money is just rolling out of their pockets.

I think what makes it even more frustrating is that even though I'm going to start a life with my DBF a few more years down the road, he's not overly concerned and makes more than enough to pay off his student loans easily, but it's getting done sooo slowly. Not that I'm one to talk with my shopping - at least I get deals, he just willy nilly dishes out full price for things that can be had for much cheaper! Faint I can't wait until we start getting our finances in line for the future, but of course, I'm more frugal and he complains about not being able to be like my lavish friends, which I'm fine with, but let's see..take overseas vacation..or pay off student loans... Course he goes with the vacation when he can pay off loans and then take more vacations in the future!! Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) And it pisses me off that he keeps telling me to take vacations when I just want to save my money! GRR! Sorry! /rant.

Awww = hug to both of you!

I think a big part of the frustration is doing it the "right" way. Me and DH have two vehicles that are both paid off. We would like a new car, but we don't need one, so we keep what we have. I drive a 2007 manual transmission Corolla. I would LOVE more room and not to have to fark with a clutch while stuck in traffic all the time, but the car is great, reliable, and paid off. We want to pay off our medical bills and get a house. We could go buy a house now, but without 20% down we'll be pissing away money on PMI. We could pay off the medical bills but we'd have no emergency cash left. We could take lavish vacations, but we'd be broke and have debt.

I think we are a bit smarter than most people our age. DH and I are trying to do things with no debt or limited debt. So many people our age feel like they have to keep up with all of their friends and others and honestly - who wouldn't love to be able to afford all that stuff without a thought? Just think that later in life, all of our deal hunting will pay off because we will be in SO MUCH better shape than others Smilie

At least, I tell myself all of this so I feel better laugh out loud

I'm 27 and DH will be 29 in July FWIW...

We haven't had a real vacation in 5 years. He works all the time. These little trips I take are me and ds tagging along on business trips. They're fun but not a vacation. I'm beat by the time we get home. We'll see if we get to go on one this summer laugh out loud.

Dh drives me crazy shopping. Bless his heart, he doesn't know how to laugh out loud.
