A social security number for a prepaid card?? Give me a break! The old SS cards used to say "FOR SOCIAL SECURITY PURPOSES ONLY - NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION".

Forcing Americans to use a SS# for everything was supposed to end terrorism. There isn't even a law requiring us to have a social security number. It is completely voluntary. But, now everybody 'requires' it. Thanks to the REAL ID Act, even the DMV is requiring a SS# for a driver's license renewal. It is only going to get worse from. What's next, show your National ID Card (your new driver's license) to buy food? Are your papers in order, comrade?

I just sign up for it. Still waiting on email confirmation. I hope it does. I don't hurt trying it out. They don't charge for shipping card and u don't have to load it at the moment if you don't want to, u can do it when u activate the card. I will update as soon I get more news

I don't have a problem with the ss being asked.. they are required. HOWEVER, they require cell phone number and looks like they will likely be sending you txt mgs or sell the info to someone who might. Did this happen to anyone who did this deal previously?
