DirectTv is shady how they lure people in with the first 12 months being half price, but you have to sign up for 2 years.

it might be shady if you can't read.
it specifically says which rebates only apply for the first 12 months.
my current Directv contract will go from $57 to ~$88 after 12 months.

Comcast does the same thing on most bundles, but they go up more, percentage wise.

And it's not even in the fine print.
Usually the second part of the 1st Sentence with something like

$xx for the first 12 months of a 2yr agreement...........

However, after you get thru months 13-24, you can usually get the good rates back.
Just keep calling and threatening to quit and they will give you lots of goodies and discounts.

I suspect they do not have to be as generous in 13-24 due to contract, but what you can do is threaten to drop everything but the basic basic service and they might still reduce the cost of a better package.

it should take a while i believe.. btw, what's to prevent me from creating new accounts with free monthly trials once mine is done? this is my first time with netflix.
