KitchenAid Mixer @ Kohl's with Kohls Charge starting at 140.59 AC/AR/AKC

i have the 600. if you are only making 1 batch of anything or a single loaf of something, don't get a 600. the bowl and paddles do a lousy job of mixing if you are making a single batch of cookies or a 2 lb loaf of bread.

if you want to make bread get a bread maker. i picked one up at sears for about 20 bucks after discounts and stuff. i have to say, i wish i bought it sooner. i have probably made almost a loaf every week. i've also made pizza dough and rolls. the cleanup is much better than the mixer.

You are obviously not using this mixer correctly!! I have a 600 like model that is 30+ years old and still mixing. It’s called scrap the bow with a spatula!! Any cook with any kind of knowledge would know that. You even have to do that with the big floor style professional Hobart models! If I wanted square half-assed bread, I would get a bread maker. But I mix and bake artisan breads and cookies, so why would I want one of those ugly-ass boxes where you just throw all of the crap in and forget it? Just so you know, the wire whip is meant for icings, the flat beater is meant for light dough and cookie dough, the dough hook is meant for heavier stretchy type of dough.

Just go in with your receipt and give it a try. If they don't then just pack up the one you bought and return it. Or buy another one with this deal, then return it with the other receipt to get your money refunded.

Don't you get the Kohl's cash after the purchase has been made? If so you can't really count that to lower the final price.

Also, OP, you should make it a little more clear that you have to have a Kohl's card to get this deal to work.

Last time they had 30% off code for Kohl's card holders, I got my 600 mixer. I went to the store, pricematched it to amazon price without a problem,l told them that i had a code for 30% off and the cashier took it off without me even given her my Kohl's charge. Got my rebate about 2 weeks ago. Still waiting on rebate for magazine subscription. Oh, and I love, love my mixer!

My Kohls store didn't bat an eye at the difference in model number... YMMV

By the way, the last 2 letters of the amazon item, SV, are just indicating the color. Mine from Kohls is model number KP26M1XPM, with the PM indicating "pearl metallic" finish. The other difference is that the one from Kohls comes with the pour shield whereas the one from Amazon doesn't appear to.

I think the slightly different endings to the model numbers have to do with the color.

well aware of what the attachments are for. when you make a 2 lb loaf of bread and use the dough hook, there isn't enough dough for the mixer to knead it. it simply flattens the dough against the bottom and there is no kneading action.

with a single batch of cookies (1 egg and roughly 1 1/4 c of flour) the paddle simply pushes the dough against the sides of the bowl and it doesn't mix. you can't cream the butter and sugar for the same reason.

see the photo for the above product, there is no way the standard paddles can cream your butter and sugar for cookies. even if you "scrap the bow" every 30 seconds, there isn't enough action. and it would be silly to use the whisk to cream the butter and sugar and switch to the paddle once you add your dry ingredients.

the 600 is simply not designed well for single/small batches. i have used hand, 4.5qt, 6qt, 10qt, 35 qt and 50 qt mixers. i'm well aware of what they can and can't do.

Instead of PM 600 model, can we PM use this one and bring the total (before coupon) $50 less?
