Panasonic TC-P65GT30 64.7" 1080P 3D PLASMA TV $1699.99 at Fry's (Sunday 2/19 Only)

Very tempted, 1899.00 shipped.

The only thing that makes me nervous is that it says "some demos / some open" in the ad. I think I may have to pull the trigger though because that is an amazing price for this TV. The product description itself doesn't say open or demo and it comes out to 1699.00 in the cart.

should i purchase or wait for a 60 inch 3d around a thousand?

Does anyone know the brand and model number of the 50" Plasma + Blue Ray Player for $899? Would this be better than the Panasonic 55ST30?

It is almost always better to wait for technology if waiting suits you. Prices for what is current now mostly fall as time goes on.

There are times when a killer deal comes around and does not repeat for many months, but TVs on sale and dropping in price happens regularly.

Still a good price on this unit at this time.

I know 'VT' is the best now, but how to compare to 'ST' version?

I went to Fry's in Austin Tx this morning and was there 5 min prior to opening to ensure I got one. guess what, typical Fry's.....not a single one new in box, and the only 2 they had were demo's..... both with burn in. Not image retention but actual burn-in....wow..... One of them actually was so bad it had a brown line across the screen... I wouldn't pay 500 for that POS.
Anyway, good job fry's, you once again suckered me into coming by and not purchasing anything.
Fry's here has really gone to S*** and I wouldn't be surprised to see them go out of business here soon.
Anyway, anyone in Austin wanting one of these don't waste your time going there, just wait for the next 2799 deal on the VT30 at best buy to come along.....

I picked up the VT30 and I can tell you the infinite black panel that the VT30 has really shines. It is hands down the best picture I have ever seen and am glad I didn't swap it for the GT. I got it from Best Buy a few weeks ago when it was 2799. I saw this ad and went to look at the GT at Fry's but as you can see in my above post, what a joke. I am going to pass my 30 day return window next week, but I am staying with the VT. After viewing for a couple of weeks, it is so stunning it was worth the 1k price above the GT. Also the single glass looks really, and I mean really good over the GT even when the TV is off. The bezel on the ST is just butt ugly and about 5 years outdated IMO.

To make this into a real SLICK deal - call Amazon large items at 866-423-5355 and have them pricematch Fry's. I just got off the phone with them and they matched the 1699.99 and charged me $50 for shipping (Frys is 139.99 for shipping) Fry's shows out of stock online, but this actually helps you since Amazon will sell it for the 1699.99 plus their $50 shipping fee as it still shows available in B&M stores. Normally Amazon will only match Fry's shipped price (1839.98). Amazon was 1749.99 shipped!!!! Smoking hot deal on a great TV. Heck just a couple weeks ago people were punching each other out to get the 65st30 for 1700 shipped. Thanks for the heads up OP, and I hope the above information helps some of you interested in getting in on this deal through Amazon!
