So...this is no name brand produced for FocalPrice? SKU google search returns nothing about it. For $3 can't beat the price, and hopefully it will be on the same quality as Amazon Basic.

Yes, the wireless ML-L3 remote does in fact work with the Nikon D5100. You have to hit the 'Information button' and select 'Release mode' and change to 'Quick-response remote'.
So I am in for one.

However, I don't think this is the ML-L3. SKU number is different and instead of just "Nikon" it says "For Nikon" on the front. It's a cheap knockoff of the real thing.

Where did you find this? I have 5100 as well.
Where was the model # located on the unit? (ML-L3)

Yeah, it seems like the D5100 isn't listed for compatibility a lot on stuff like this, but it usually is. I believe it's pretty similar to the D5000. Don't take this as the gospel though -- I was looking into these a while back and it was never very clear, but Nikon's site showed what accessories the D5100 is compatible with.

How is urlhasbeenblocked? I checked resellerratings.com, and they have about an 8/10 rating, but there are a lot of 1-star "never received my order after 2 months" complaints, at least on the first page.

What camera do you have? Did you get this exact one (from focalprice) or the Amazon one?
It has ONE button and just makes the camera snap a picture, so I can't imagine there's much rocket surgery involved!
