tempted as my back porch 52" just crapped out. it was out there for a reason, it was on the fritz so I"m not surprised it died over Christmas vacation. Thanks will start to research this model comparison price wise.

Is sceptre a reliable brand? I'm pretty new to HDTV's and I feel like sticking to Sony, LG, Panasonic, and Samsung. I have a 32" Vizio and that takes like 10 minutes to turn on.

I have a 40" right now. The text sucks for word processing. For movies it's pretty good. Occasionally it's a bit to dark on scenes. For games it is outstanding

Sceptre has mixed reviews. I purchased the 42inch version(x420bv-fhd) of this TV over a year ago. Of course Ymmv, but the TV has been awesome for me. First of all no motion blur. Compared to my friends 42" vizio, the sceptre smokes it. The sound is maybe average, but should be hooked to a surround sound system anyways. I have dish network so the best the receiver can throw out is 1080i. I also play ps3 and GT5 looks amazing!
My only problem is once in a blue moon the sound doesn't sink with my DVR for some reason. Turning TV on and off fixes it every time. I paid 399 for the 42" a year ago and would buy another one today if I needed a TV. BTW the universal remote code is the same as sony... hmmm? I think power on is maybe a minute or less, never really timed it.. Best of luck

For this price and this brand it should be 120hz to be even a warm deal.

Mine arrived today, smashed by the Walfart monkeys. Not a slick deal for me after all.
So I return it the next day. Waste of gas, time. They don't sell it in the stores, so I email then eventually talk to a CSR Rep. The price increased from $398 to $450, then again to $469. She said she could offer me a $30 discount. I declined. Total crap. Walmart is crap in my book. Last edited by Anger; 03-07-2012 at 12:42 PM.. |
