Note: that like ALL ssd's that are rated over 300 meg/s, a high speed SATA 3 6Gb/s setup helps fully utilize the speed (such as a native intel sata 6g) but real world speeds are not affected a whole lot, right now, by 6Gb/s (SATA3) vs. 3Gb/s (SATA2) according to Tom's Hardware's recent tests: http://www.tomshardware.com/revie...110-7.html
Hooking this up to a mobo's built in marvell 6g probably will NOT be able to take full advantage of this drive.

If a Crucial M4 256 GB for $303 at Best Buy (worse retailer) can hit front page, then this definitely deserves it. I'd have my friend get this but he already got the Plextor. Does anyone know how this one compares with the Plextor and its Marvell controller? |
