They are handy just so you know whats what electricity wise around your home. Ive seen them for cheaper than this often times but, meh, maybe only $3 cheaper. I own the same one as well.

On a note about the extension cord. That is probably good advice for anyone that does not know that.

You pretty much NEED a short extension cord for these types of things. Most of the time you wont get that thing into a socket with any other cords around it, it just wont happen. Its also much more handy to, you know, have it out so you can actually read it, rather than stuck in a socket sideways in a dark corner you cant get to... How are you going to read the thing if its stuck behind a TV with hundreds of cables blocking your view. :0

Dont not buy one of these without expecting to buy a short extension cord with it. You will be angry without an extension cord.

Trust me. I happened to have one already and was extremely grateful I did.
