Thread Details

This CDP is for the ABA. American Bar Association. There is really no way to ID for this. This code also eliminates the underage fee in its entirety. You can also use your own corporate CDP code with the following RQ and PC's below. The one given is just to help those underage and it honestly gives better discounts than most CDP's I've seen.

CDP Code= 13000
RQ=BEST
PC=113761 (25 off a weekly rental ANY CAR CLASS)

Other personal favorite PC Codes are:

10 Off/Day at the Airport up to $30 (Only up to Small SUV)= PC 166725
15 off/Day on Prestige Rentals up to $75= PC 161431
For all of you who hate renting at the Airport. This PC will take $5off/day at any Hertz Local Edition on any car class up to $20 = PC 107520 or 167252 (depends on location)
One class car upgrade (Highest upgrade to full size) At the airport for week or weekend trip =PC Code 113783
$50 off a monthly rental at the airport PC= 161416

There are other codes available for coupons, but I use the ones above most frequently. Hope this helps some of you guys.

Just use that CDP CODE and RATE code and pick a PC of your choosing and use them ALL together.

These codes almost NEVER beat Hotwire or Priceline. I have rented 50+ times through both Hotwire and Priceline and they go WAY cheaper than any of these rental car codes (see Flyer Talk for the master list, btw) but it can vary heavily.

For example, tell me what this supposedly great CDP brings up for OGG - Kahului airport in Maui. Probably $50/day. Tell me why I reserved the same car on Hotwire for $8/day? You do the math.

The key to renting cheaply through Hotwire and Priceline is checking often, as prices often fluctuate, just like flight prices. For my upcoming trip to Maui (and 50+ other reservations I have made personally), the prices have been anywhere from my reservation at $8 to over $50. Priceline, for whatever reason, wasn't taking bids even in the normal ballpark of $10-20 per day. I bid during the day on President's Day.

I rarely use car rental codes except when the above two sites can't yield something good. I like Budget's Codes BCD Y004400 and W810011 the best. You will not be asked for I.D. and this is public info. But, as I said, for my money and time, I just use Hotwire (check a few times) or throw up a Priceline bid below $20/day using BetterBidding or BiddingforTravel to guide.

The only time you beat Hotwire or Priceline is with additional coupons added, but in my experience, it isn't by much to warrant the time to search those deals out.

As far as being 25 and under, there are plenty of codes to be had. Sometimes paying the underage fee per day (call and confirm with the individual counter) and using Hotwire is cheaper. Otherwise, use one of the codes here: http://www.betagammasigma.org/benefits.htm

*Exception: international travel is YMMV. Hotwire has been great in some places but not others and I often use an old National code to book.

This seems like abuse.
We all draw lines different places. This is one of the most common ways to get a good deal on a car rental. Back in the "good ol days" that is what slickdeals was all about. Now that SD has gone mainstream, no one even wants to try anything that is not a sure thing, and the sure things get sucked down so quick they are useless to try. I do long for the good ol days of slickdeals.

I tried a reservation for full size @ ATL for 3 days (weekend) and it came out to around 90+ using all the three codes (used the 10 off airport PC).
The same reservation with national using Entertainment coupon codes was $73 for me, and usually I almost always get a premium car with full size rental with national.

They have a card with membership -- its the same way they would verify AAA or any other discount. My husband is an attorney. Last time he rented under his (legitimate) ABA discount they asked for his card. He didn't have it on him, but they took his bar card as proof that he was an attorney.

So maybe they are on to you guys--when 25% of the people who show up are suddenly "lawyers" they know something is up.

I don't quite see the justification for doing this, still. Unless Hertz were to publicly state that they don't care who uses the codes, it's fraudulent to claim to be a member of a certain organization for the sole purpose of benefiting off it.

I've recently joined AAA, but have been using AAA codes for quite sometime. I've never been asked to show my id so far.

Yes, AAA does give a great rate, but they do not waive the underage fee. If you are over 25, using the AAA rate in combination with any of the codes I have listed will help you save even more money!

Terrific post. Thumbup Do you have any monthly rate codes? I used the CDP, RQ and PC in the OP and it wasn't near as good as I get through USAA but I didn't have a monthly code and I am renting for a month.

For weekend rentals, Budget has the "Wendie" promo for $17/ day (for a limited time). Check their home page for the code. I've also used Budget BCD U316622 with some success.
