Thread Details

I saw a few SDGLers tried this one out; I did as well. It is a new Free2Play on Steam (apparently it has been out on it's own website before it was on Steam). The best description I can come up with so far is old school Gauntlet with a ton of players and a huge world.

I've had fun with it so far, what do you guys think?

I played it a little last night (got to 14) and I like it but there's nearly no direction whatsoever. I was just running around killing stuff but I don't really know how things work; the game doesn't explain anything to you. I guess I need to go check out that wiki to understand it better. I like it though.

I completely agree. They just teach you the controls through that tutorial level and then you're thrown into the world and immediately attacked by things, lol. I don't even know how to switch classes to ones that I unlocked.

I do recall this game being in flash form at on point on Kongregate or something.

  1. Using quotes enables phrase search and it makes the order of the terms important. Thus "rotten apple" would return posts with "rotten peach & apple" but will not return "the apple is rotten."

You can buy currency and get vanity items, pets and such from the in-game shop. You can also unlock storage slots in your vault and additional character slots. You start with 1 storage chest and 1 character slot.

Reading with wiki does help clear up your objectives and such. Since you only have 1 char slot, you can choose a different class when you die and start again.

Looking at the video now, I dunno. I suppose it's free so I might as well try it.

Die, when it comes time to make a new character you'll have access to new classes. Or pay for more character slots and make a new one.

So I hit lvl 20, picked up some decent gear and got lucky enough to get in on a group that plowed through the Oryx Castle. I figured the game was fun enough to give the devs a little monetary appreciation, so I tried buying realm gold. I clicked an amount, and the game essentially froze. Tried again, same thing.

I did some reading, and it turns out this is a known bug. Now I'm no rocket scientist, but if I released my indie game to a big new community and made it F2P, the one thing I'd MAKE SURE I got right was the part where I get money. Now the newness is wearing off and my will to press the buy button is fading... oh well.

So I sent them an e-mail that basically said, "I want to give you money but I'm running into the Steam user bug. Is there a workaround?" Days later, no response at all. I've already created a mule account to meet my item transfer needs. But I am astounded at how reluctant this company is to take my money. Can't give it to them in game, can't get them to respond to a direct e-mail request to give them money. Mind = blown.
