CVS 3/4-3/10 & 3/7-3/10 (Test Market Ad in AL, CT, GA, MA, MS, NM, NY, PA)

Ugh, this reminds me of a few years ago when we got these crappy test ads. And thankfully, they went away UNTIL now

A little googling revealed an unsubstatiated report of CVS test markets in AL, CT, GA, MA, MS, NM, NY and PA. (Sorry, I don't know which specific cities.) Ouch!

I really feel for the TM folks, having been in TM Hell with Wags myself -- I'm in PDX; the other TMs were Kansas City, MO and Richmond, VA -- from May '10 til 12/31/11. Why it took over 18 months to take this horrendous flop offline is still a mystery to me. Hopefully CVS learns from Wags (and now RA).

Personally, I'm going to make every effort to roll my ECBs the week of 2/26. The advantage to having the ad for 3/11-3/17 will allow those of us in the test market to plan ahead to roll more ECBs. Hope this makes sense.

Also, at the bottom of the test market ad, where it advertises the CVS cash card, there is a double **. This is what it reads, "Offer valid 3/7/12-3/10/12.

Does this mean that the cash card deal is only good for 4 days?

Finally, is there someone that would be willing to mail me a regular ad. I would be happy to reimburse you your costs through paypal. I'm hoping my stores will honor the ad if I have a copy of it. Please PM if you can. Thanks.

I'm in MA. When I was in CVS today I asked about the ad for 3/4. The assistant manager showed me next week's ad and it was the non-test market ad with the free Jelly Beans on the front. I asked her about the test market ad and she had not heard anything about it. I am hoping that she is correct and we are not part of the Test Market.

Shift supervisor gave me a copy of next week's Test Market ad. Said in Sunday's paper 3/4 there is going to be a one time use 20 percent coupon that can be used on any non sale item(s) in the store. The stores will not have any coupons to give to their customers.

He also said they would honor the CVS ad that is not in the Test Market.

What is CVS thinking?

My ad reads, "Look for the CVS Cash card symbol on specially marked items in the circular and in store." (I might add that none of the items in this ad are marked with a cash card.) "Cash card offer valid 3/7/12 - 3/10/12."

ok, I see, your location is in the first group. So it looks like we'll be getting the cash card deal 3/7-3/10 even without the 4 day circular.

OMG! I just realized I am in one of the test market areas and I therefore have this stupid one-page test market ad (with the 20% off coupon).

I read the thread, but I'm a bit confused. Am I still going to be able to do the deals that are in the non-test-market ad (automatically, without having to mention the non-test market ad)? Or will I need to get a physical copy of a non-test-market ad. so I can try to get my local stores to honor those deals for me? And if so, I wonder if I should try to get the ad from someone in a neighboring state like NJ or CT, so I can more easily persuade my stores to honor it.

Also wondering, can people who didn't get the 20% coupon in their area use that 20% coupon anyway? If yes, I may have extras I can send people.

It's only good on "regularly priced items." It goes on to say in the fine print "This coupon excludes sale merchandise, promotional offerings, including "buy more & save" promotions, discounted merchandise, milk, bread, alcohol, gift cards, lottery, money orders, prescriptions, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, tobacco products, newspapers, and magazines, Netbook and Sylvania or Craig 7" Tablet," "Coupon cannot be combined with any other CVS/pharmacy coupons. Limit one coupon per customer," and "Valid one time only 3/4/12 through 3/10/12."

I refreshed all my EBs to survive past this ad. I plan to NOT shop CVS at all this week as a protest to this stupid ad. One of my managers saw me shopping tonight and asked if I needed anything ordered for next week. I had to tell him no and explain the test ad for next week. Then he went and pulled out his box of ads and he was surprised by the short ad.... His store is new and struggling a little bit too....

I have EB's expiring next week and I'm not sure I'll get to use them tomorrow. And there are items in next week's non-test-market ad that I need (Zantac!!!) and want (Blue Diamond Almonds ). What a PITA. I need to get a non-test-market ad asap, if I want to try to get my local stores to honor those promos.

Yeah, I am having my sis mail me one from her early paper tomorrow, just in case something comes up that "I can't live without" lol, hopefully, I will be able to stick to my guns, though.
