Sounds like you love paying anything and everything the government throws at you. We deal with these screen fees by buying online and out of state, or if the deal is really good, we just pay the fee if we have to.

LoL whatever just seems like people should know joining a newegg or amazon thread that they are going to have to pay those two things, every thread has the same post and it probably hasn't changed because their stores are physically located in CA.

My only point is it also has benefits to living there I'm not telling anyone where to live.

Does anyone have any experience with this compared to an HP 2311x? Just wondering if it would be worth it to sell the HP at $120 - $100, essentially making the Asus $40 - $60. Not much gaming, just Netflix videos, web browsing, music production, and the odd photo editing.

I have this monitor. I've owned it for a week and it has amazing pictures, bright colors. For the cost you can't go wrong.

I've had this for over 2 months, same price around xmas.

Few thoughts:

No bad pixels out of the box, stand very easy to install. HDMI connectors do go straight back, so if wall mounting, just get some right angle HDMI adapters from Monoprice ($2)

Very bright out of the box, I turned brightness down to 55 or so and it was a lot easier to work with daily.

Some light bleed out of top and bottom of the display. Most noticeable if you are using a dark desktop background and using this as a secondary monitor. I changed to a lighter background and not really an issue once I did that.
