Just bought one! I thought Overstock.com had a good deal, luckily it went OOS and I didn't end up getting it. Even Decide.com [decide.com] verifies this as a good buy.

Great screen. I got one for this price in January, just keep in mind that this doesn't have speakers;so, if you want sound from the Hdmi input, you need to attach external speakers to the headphone output at the back of the screen. I fix this problem with a set of logitech z623s. Great combination..

Tempted, but I'm sure good LED monitors go for cheaper right?

Peronally, I would rather get a monitor that doesn't come with the crappy speakers attached to it. Both monitors here at work come with speakers but I always use an external speakers to connect to the soundcard. Sound much better that way.

I've had my eye on the 24" version of this monitor, the VS248H-P, link here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Pro...6824236153

But I'm seriously tempted by this 23.6" version for $40 less. For anyone that might have experience, what are your thoughts on a 23.6" monitor versus a 24"? On paper, it doesn't sound like much, but it may be different in day to day use.

True and agree. But people could think this screen has build in speakers from the fact that has Hdmi. If you connect you xbox to the Hdmi and the pc to the Dvi you must have external speakers with two inputs in order to have sound from both sources

tax + ewaste fee kill the damn deal for CA resident.

How come every single monitor and television thread ever created has someone from CA complaining about tax and ewaste fees? If every tv and monitor costs you this then how does it kill the deal?

I think $50 every 5 to 10 years is worth the price you get for having perfect weather all the time.

Hey, what are your opinions between this monitor and a low-end e-ips, like this one? [anandtech.com] I understand e-ips suffers from a little more input lag compared to tn but I'm willing to give that up for viewing angles and picture quality.

Wow that is very sleek looking. Are there any other monitors with that type of frame?

Don't know of any other led-edge lit e-IPS panels, I think AOC was one of the few manufacturers to do it and move the power brick outside of the frame. It's only $180, and it accepts HDMI and has a headphone out port, which would work great with my PS3, I'm just wondering if the input lag would actually make that much of a difference in games on either platform.
