Would've liked the Hero2 but those are a lot of money, don't seem THAT much better.

For those of you with GoPro experience this Motorsports version can only be used on vehicles? Could I use it for my ski trips?

The Hero2 really is better, but in ways that might not matter as much to some people. Better low light images/video for one.

The only difference in the versions is in the mounts they come with. The Motorsports version comes with a suction cup mount and a couple different stick on surface mounts. The Helmet version comes with a headband strap instead but still has stick on surface mounts. Most people seem to think the Motorsports version is more versatile for different uses, but to each their own. I have one of each, so I'm covered either way.

And to answer your skiing question directly, I got the motorsports version first, and used one of the surface mounts on my helmet.

Where did you get the $209 deal? When?

I got my Gopro Hero2 for $199 a month ago. This deal is "decent" for a Hero1 still.
