Ok, so I got the card on Saturday and everything actually went better than expected. I didn't even do a clean install. Since I already had ATY_init installed, all I had to do was update Chimera (maybe not necessary but can't hurt), install the netkas package I linked before, and the driver I linked to as well. I didn't even update to 10.7.2
So as of right now I have two monitors working--my cinema led is hooked up to the displayport and my other 22" tn panel is plugged into the DVI. It runs smooth with both youtube and the normal osx animations. I only got one kernel panic when i rebooted after repairing permissions, but haven't gotten anything since. I don't get any KPs when opening itunes, as some of the earlier people who attempted it did. I'm sure it's not good enough to play any games, but that's what I have Windows for. It's definitely good enough to drive my 2560x1440 display without a hiccup, and that's all that matters to me.
Good luck if you try!
Damn, that sounds sweet!!!.....Now Im wishing the seller sent me what I originally ordered....Well, I guess Im ok for now, I didnt have the room for three monitors anyhow lol.
Have you tried any OpenCL testing? Or running Cinebench on the hackintosh to test the 3d acceleration?
I received my MSI Twin Frozr II today. I successfully unlocked it using the method outlined in my OP. Now for the overclocking! Note that I tried unlocking it while I was running Xfire. I couldn't really tell which BIOS was my already unlocked card and which was my new card, and I was getting frustrated because the one I thought was the MSI bios kept telling me "could not find byte in file" when I ran the unlock script. I realized later I had picked the wrong BIOS and that the script couldn't unlock it because it was already unlocked. I unlocked the other BIOS, flashed it, and everything runs just fine.
