Harbor Freight Tool box combo
This is a great tool chest combo. I am a machinist and I am using this instead of Kennedy's ($1300. to $1500 comparison)The draws are deeper and are cushioned with a thin foam bottom. The only weak points are the wheels and the handle. Harbor Freight has wheels on sale for $3.99 each. I bought 4 swivel wheels, drilled out the bushings in the cart and used a nut and blot for the new wheels (the bolt pattern matches the new wheels) and the cart is awesome. I plan to put a backer bar on the inside of the handle for more strength. I recommend this box for machinist or hobbyist. I don't think this would be a good box for mechanics, unless you are using it for small speciality tools or instruments. $150 bucks for the box and $20 bucks for the wheels and hardware. THIS IS A GREAT DEAL! Buy it, you won't be dissapointed!

36" x 24" x 28" I added a little padding in each dimension, so that's a conservative measure. as long as your 3' x 3' space can also accommodate for the height, i think you should have no problem taking it home. additionally, you can unpack it at the store and get rid of the foam and store the pre-assembled components separately. |

These carts are the best hidden secret of HF. The better sale price is $139. I was lucky enough to have gotten mine when the 20% coupons didn't say toolboxes because I ended up with several at $100.
If you're not aware, we have a very active HF thread in the coupon forum: http://slickdeals.net/f/1276399-H...pon-Thread The wiki contains links to all the emailed, digital savings (facebook/twitter) and ITC coupons. You will need to cut and paste then edit the links because unfortunately, slickdeals adds some crap to the front of the URLs and harbor freight routes that to their main page. |

I despise hf but saw this and went to check it out. Ended up buying one and a 1.5lb rubber mallet (which incidently came in handy when putting it together). The quality is way above anything I would have expected from hf. It's not $900 pro box quality, but it's more than enough for the average garage.
People who quote themselves probably shouldn't. If it were worth repeating someone else would do it.
I'm not too busy, I just don't care. At all. NO ASSPENNIES! |
