I bought one of these back when you could use a 20 % off coupon at sidewalk sales. $129 I think... anyhow, Its a great chest, had for 2 years now and if it said snap-on or Mac it would have cost $800. It's really nice.

This is a great tool chest combo. I am a machinist and I am using this instead of Kennedy's ($1300. to $1500 comparison)
The draws are deeper and are cushioned with a thin foam bottom.
The only weak points are the wheels and the handle.
Harbor Freight has wheels on sale for $3.99 each. I bought 4 swivel wheels, drilled out the bushings in the cart and used a nut and blot for the new wheels (the bolt pattern matches the new wheels) and the cart is awesome.
I plan to put a backer bar on the inside of the handle for more strength.
I recommend this box for machinist or hobbyist. I don't think this would be a good box for mechanics, unless you are using it for small speciality tools or instruments.
$150 bucks for the box and $20 bucks for the wheels and hardware.

I would argue this is a tool cart, not a tool box.

I bought one of these from Craiglist for $100 recently. It was just like new when I got it and I didn't even have to put it together. It is a nice tool cart for occasional use.

How big are the boxes? I have a mini-suv and I think the cargo space is limited to 3 x 3 feet, although I can also fold the second seat to give an extra feet... anyone know?

When my friend and I unpacked this in my garage (he had to break it down to fit into his SUV), he left parts of the box behind. The top and bottom caps are gone so I can't measure those, but the main part of the box which I kept to re-use the cardboard for something is about this size:

36" x 24" x 28"

I added a little padding in each dimension, so that's a conservative measure. as long as your 3' x 3' space can also accommodate for the height, i think you should have no problem taking it home. additionally, you can unpack it at the store and get rid of the foam and store the pre-assembled components separately.

great cart, ITC is about worthless these days. Don't let then talk you in to one. Waste of money.

These carts are the best hidden secret of HF. The better sale price is $139. I was lucky enough to have gotten mine when the 20% coupons didn't say toolboxes because I ended up with several at $100.
