Vid Card Help
So I plan on buying a new vid card but I haven't been in the market for one in sometime so i figure to ask some people who have been. Budget for a card is like 200-300 bucks. Obviously if its like 315 ill still get it. I currently have a 9800 GTX. Also read that some of the older cards are better than newer after being overclocked etc. like 460 GTX is better than 560 ti etc.believed i posted this in wrong area before |

Another good link if you're going for value is http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/gpu_value.html .
It's true that an overclocked older card may be better than a stock newer card, but at the same time an overclocked new card will generally win vs an overclocked old card. I'd say go for the next FP deal that looks good for a 560ti or a 6870 or above. There have been some pretty good deals lately. A lot of people might say "oh but xyz new card is coming out soon, prices will drop!" but honestly, those people will be waiting forever, as pricing will always drop over time (unless, of course, flooding in Thailand destroys the supply of video cards like it did to hard drives )

I would also say get one that is at least three tiers above your card on the tom's hardware chart. For you that would be a 560ti or 6950 which is 4 tiers up. AMD or Nvidia both are good but I chose AMD due to cooler running GPU's and less power. Either way you can'tgo wrong as I have had experience with both companies and pople are really into overclocking now too.
