I have had this spray gun for 6 months now and have used it on several occasions now. Plainly put, this gun is absolutely incredible!!!! I've sprayed walls, trim moulding, plantation shutters, and various other things. dilute your paint about 20-30%, pour your paint in and set the running pressure to about 50PSI. adjust the feed volume, spray concentration, and air flow knobs as desired. test spray on some cardboard or other scrap first. do light coats at a time and as the coats build up you'll have a very nice finish. i've used gloss and matte paints and both came out fine; no, actually they came out incredibly beautiful.. and this is my 1st spray gun... a friend who came over to my house thought we installed brand new plantation shutters until i told him all we did was spray over them... he was amazed because he thought the finish of the paint was a factory finish.

one minor issue with this spray gun is the air flow adjustment at the bottom by the air inlet. for some reason, the thread sealant they used doesn't work and air leaks from there. not a big deal, just unscrew the valve knob out and cover the threads with some teflon tape and screw it back in and it will be air tight.

the spray gun comes with a special wrench that allows you to completely disassemble the spray gun for cleaning. i've gotten good enough at it now I can take it completely apart in about 30 seconds. there's a cleaning brush and a paint feed filter as well.

beyond the fact that this spray gun does such an incredible job, with this coupon it is only $9.99!!

Not water. It depends on the kind of paint you're spraying, but typically some thinner/reducer. If you're spraying lacquer, you'd dilute it with lacquer thinner. Straight paint is too thick to spray so using something that is more "watery" in consistency will make the paint come out in finer droplets/mist.

I have no idea which purple guns I have (one standard, one touchup) from Harbor Freight, it may be 66222 and whatever the touchup version is/was, but they are great for the price. Acrylic urethane goes onto prepped sheet metal smooth, as does polyurethane onto furniture. I have no idea on the actual requirements for these guns, but my 18cfm/40psi compressor with copper cooling lines and 3/8" hose didn't have to do much. It appears the 47016 model is rated to run with very little air, so anything more than a pancake compressor should be able to do well enough on the air delivery requirement side.

I've been using the same gun to spray Flat Black Rust-O-Leum, thinned about 20% with Acetone and it goes on very nicely.

they take print out coupons all the time. they have them on their website for customers to print out so i can't see how they won't take them? even ITC members can print out ITC coupons after logging into the ITC website. the last time i was there a friend wanted to buy a tool cart and i found a coupon on my phone and showed it to the cashier and she typed in the barcode number. shouldn't be a problem... and if they give you any hassle, i would speak to their supervisor and explain what i just said...

HFT publishes coupons of different prices in different places. sometimes, some coupons are better than others. this is the best price I've seen for this spray gun and I believe the coupon is from a magazine.

This is true.

If ever in a pinch and you don't have coupons, just go to the nearest drugstore (CVS, Rite-Aid, etc) and look in some men's magazines (Lowrider, Popular Sci, Popular Mech, Turbo etc etc) and flip towards the back.

Profit.

no, i can't. i told my friend about this coupon and he went by himself to buy it. since he saw the results of my paint jobs with this spray gun, he's been wanting one for a while, but i told him to hold off until i found the $10 coupon for it. so, i don't know how the transaction went when he got it.

i can tell you that my local HFT, which is different from the one my friend went to, will just type in the numbers if the coupon doesn't scan because it's not clear enough or whatever. as long as they can read the numbers under the barcode, they'll just type it in. the coupon i posted in the 1st post should be large enough that they can actually scan it though...
