I bought the Wii for Zelda at launch. It was fun for a little while but after playing the handful of decent games, I sold it. I got a used one from a pawn shop for $50 a few months ago and modded it just incase I ever want to play it and I wanted to play the new Zelda. I don't regret the purchase but I agree that is was a disappointment overall.

Motion control didnt appealed to me at the time of the Wii craze and i dont know if it ever will. The last thing I want to do after a long day is fire up my console and hop around like an idiot doing overly exaggerated movements in a repetitive fashion to achieve something that could've been done just as easily as with a joystick and a couple buttons.

I put a bunch of hours into all the AAA titles (both Galaxies, Kart, Smash, Metroid, PunchOut, first Zelda) and I still have the second Zelda to play. Definitely no regrets. It's probably seen just as much or more action than my PS3, which I really need to play catch-up on. I usually game on a laptop since I travel, so neither system sees tons of time these days.
EDIT: I didn't own a GC, so I also bought a number of GC titles and played them as well. That boosted the value even more. |

No regrets. I don't have time to play video games more than an hour or two a week on average so I've never run out of games. Hell, still have to get through some of the AAA games. Sad that it got the reputation (and cascade of) minigame collections as it became a self-fulfilling prophecy IMHO. Tons of great games, assuming you don't want shooters, shooters, and more shooters.

It is pretty farking funny watching someone that plays a lot of Wii Tennis to play Kinect Tennis for the 1st time. Over and over when she'd get into a big rally and need to hit a backhand shot, she'd just turn her wrist inside out and flick it. That doesn't work for the Kinect, because it wouldn't work outside. And although I seem to be talking up the Kinect, In the end, if I don't get much gaming time during the week, I am not using the couple hours I get on a Saturday to play Kinect Sports, that is still all BF3 or some other AAA title.

if i sent you a PS3, would you keep it? |

In a word, "no".
I bought the console because I'm a fan of the AAA titles by Nintendo. They're typically the only ones I buy for the console, but not always. I love mario kart, liked smash bros for a while, loved the mario (the three platformers not the party/olympic/what-other-nonsense) and zelda games. I played a bunch of Medal of Honor:heroes 2 when it first came out and I played a bunch of CoD:BO as well. I still would like to play the three metroid games (I know two of them released on GC but are now playable with wii controls). I think the Wii appeals to me and my family for several reasons: My wife and I love playing the marios and mario kart listed above (and with her parents included) love playing Tetris, Dr mario and Wii Sports. My father-in-law and I enjoy playing the rock band and guitar hero games sometimes when we get together. So I think it has been an overall enjoyable ownership. **Puts on his flame-retardant suit** That being said, I love my gaming PC more
Currently playing:
PC - BF3 & Dead Island Wii U - Nintendo Land (waiting on Black Ops 2 in the mail) ---------- Chaelek: If a loved one were hypothetically kidnapped and I showed up at your door, bloody and disheveled, clutching the ring, would you help me save them, buddy-cop movie style? Patrick Rothfuss: Oh hell yes. |

I didn't buy it, it was a gift, but I probably would have regretted it if I did. I do use it for the NFL training camp game, which is a decent enough workout especially if you string them together. And its nice as a wireless Netflix box for an SDTV.
