Thread Details

Last Edited by godfather927 February 27, 2012 at 11:54 AM
Thread to discuss movies of any type and date, but perhaps with more focus on recent ones in the past couple years.

Please be courteous to others when discussing a fairly recent movie with unexpected plot elements or endings, and always spoiler tag comments that could ruin the story for anyone who hasn't seen the movie yet. When trying to decide whether or not to tag something, please err on the side of caution since even the mention that a certain movie has a twist (without divulging what it is) could end up being a mini-spoiler itself.

In case you don't already know how, you can spoiler tag any block of text with the following tags:

this tag goes at the end of the hidden text ~~~~>
this tag goes at the beginning of the hidden text ~~~~>
Achievements are not for the meek, it is better to forfeit inheritance of the earth so that the mighty may look upon my gamerscore, and despair. Achievements are for men who dream; men who dare; men who achieve! Men who carve out entire galaxies with nothing more than nimble cheetos-dusted fingers and their wits, and in our leisurely twilight days we shall sit by softly flickering fires with our descendants recounting the tales of these unimaginable glories.

Watched The Hunger Games this weekend...knowing just a little bit about the story going in, I thought it was an interesting movie. Decent story, decent action. I enjoyed it.

Also watched Contraband [imdb.com] this weekend. I liked Mark Wahlberg, so I was probably a little biased. Some good gunplay in the movie, predictable plot, but I still enjoyed it.

I can blame her... and you for even suggesting it to her. Speaking of you, arent you the guy who stocks up on food and water? I finally saw an episode of that doomsday preppers and it was actually a pretty interesting show. You should watch the movie Take Shelter if you really are into all that stuff.

I wouldn't say I "stock up"....but yeah if I couldn't leave my house for 30-45 days, I'd be fine. I have never seen doomsday preppers but I can only imagine those people are lunatics.

I'll have to check out that movie AFTER I watch Total Recall.

We watched "We Bought a Zoo [imdb.com]" For some reason Matt Damon and Wahlberg always remind me of one another, haha.

Anyway, decent flick. Pretty darn predictable (Have a zoo, tough luck, in shambles, gets girl, gets monies) Won't take the time to watch it again most likely unless it was randomly on TV, I'd say 3 of 5.

I have watched that show and told jabbit to check it out in the TV thread. He apparently is a loser and won't ever take our suggestions. gave me MS Pts so I'll shut up.

I don't have 45 days, but we are good for 3 weeks now. Started talking to my buddies about it and the one guy made up a Bug Out Bag this weekend, haha. (3 days worth of supplies you always have at the ready. I need to get to work on mine also)
