What I should have said is " you make a 2nd million, the government takes 750k. The government will take 400k of the first million and 750k of the second million. Of course that is not 75% of your total income, but it is 75% of everything over that first million. What the fark are you going on about "infinity" for? its just stupid to talk about money in some sort of bracket vacuum. Its misleading and is the whole reason so many people fail to understand tax rates. They think that once you hit a bracket suddenly your entire income is taxed at that rate. When in actuality income tax rates are very fair, Elmer is taxed the same on his first $10k as i am, etc etc. |

Obviously the the entire income is not taxed at 75%. Even so, a 75% tax rate is in no way "fair." Personally, I don't care what the french government decides to tax their people. The French get the government they deserve. |

if you were paid a trillion dollars your tax rate would still be 74.999999999% |

Vague sweeping statements? What the fark are you going on about? Your top earner statement is irrelevant. I seriously do not understand what foolish point you are trying to make here... |

If you want to not look like a dumbass then in the future: Top earners, those who have an income of more than 1 million euro, will be taxed at 75% on every euro above 1 million ^^^ THIS is a valid statement. "top earners are taxed at 75%" is not a valid statement, it doesnt actually say what a top earner is, nor does it describe what the tax bracket 75% affects. Its also not a valid statement because as long as tax brackets exist, you cant get taxed at the highest rate on your entire income. Someone who is paid 1 trillion euros would be taxed at 74.9999999999999%. So someone being paid 2 million is nowhere CLOSE to 75%. According to you someone who is paid 1 million and one euros is a "top earner" and is being taxed at 75%, this is pure 100% misleading bullshit, their tax rate would be under 40% I dont know why you guys cant grasp this, i understand not everyone took calculus, but really i would think ive dumbed this down enough |

If you make over a million, everything over that million is taxed at 75%. Again, the top earner nonsense you keep bringing up is irrelevant to the above fact. Forget the farking "entire income bullshit" I was never claiming that anyone was taxed at 75% on their entire income. In your example, the only income that would be taxed at 75% is that one additional euro. Of course that's true. The condescending nature of your replies is amusing though.
