Coleman Instant 14- by 10- Foot 8- Person Two Room Tent [amazon.com]

Picked up one of these last year and it's a hell of a lot faster and easier than setting up a traditional tent. It's not a smokin deal, but it's priced as cheap as it's ever been. Good reviews, too.

Product Features:
Spacious 8-person, 2-room tent designed for quick assembly
Poles come pre-attached to tent, ensuring setup in 1 minute or less
Exclusive WeatherTec system with thick waterproof walls and welded floor
2 doors and 7 windows for full ventilation; removable divider between rooms
Base measures 14 by 10 feet; center height of 6 feet 5 inches; 1-year warranty

Thanks, not sure if I am going to get it yet. 3 Questions:

1. Have you had issues with the zippers?
2. Have you had problems with it getting too hot inside?
3. Have you had problems with rain because of the lack of the rain flap?

The zippers work fine. Just make sure the base of the legs aren't stretched out so the fabric is as tight as a snare drum. Keep the zippers closed during setup, set the legs appropriately and you'll be fine.
It will get hot inside, but only on days where there is absolutely no breeze. My guess is because the fabric is treated (no need for a fly) the air and moisture don't travel through it as easily.
Overall, I'm very happy with mine.

No problems with zippers unless your trying to use them really fast.
Never too hot.
Not really, just a small amount but it was a HUGE rainstorm and we fixed that with a $10 tarp over the top, they now sell a rain flap separate but a tarp works just fine, but again only during heavy long lasting rain.

Great deal. Just bought the Field and Stream Fairbanks Outfitter tent from Dicks Sporting Goods last month. Had I not purchased that for $125 I would be all over this.

Awesome, I have been waiting for these to go on sale since the end of summer, this one has a thicker material than the walmart one I used last summer. No more setting up in the dark and rain for an hour, which has been the case the last two years when camping. We are always late hence the dark and it took forever to put up the old school ones in the dark

Looks easy breezy to set up....but they don't show you the TAKEDOWN video...which is key to me as I've had so many problems in past with the foldup of kids play tents where you have to make wire fold in circles.....etc....anyone?

great tent even without the rain flap. used it for the first time last year and it withstood the heavy rain. i'm not sure if it can really accomodate 8 but i like the height especially with a raised bed. it was on sale for even less than this amount with 2 extra twin beds but still a great buy for $150.

sigh...If this comes with beautiful June weather, I'm so in.

On a serious note though, my parents have a Coleman instant tent, and it is very easy to set up as family car-camping tents go! It was new, so I can't speak to the durability or anything.

Found a review here [montanatest.com]

This will be my first tent! Shall I pull the trigger? Are there any "pros" here to guide me a bit? Is there anything better available at the same price?
