Sharon Simmons, the almost-famous cheerleading grandmother from Texas, has finally fulfilled her lifelong dream.

Since she was a young, single mother, the voracious fitness enthusiast from Carollton has put her desire to audition for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders on the 'back-burner' to focus on her children.

But now, at the age of 55, Ms Simmons has just entered the first round of auditions for the beloved state team and shown the world that 'age ain't nothing but a number'.
