Sex education works with most kids, but some just won't take the pills or use condoms for various reasons, no matter what they're taught about possible consequences. I'm all for sex ed, but teen pregnancy rates aren't necessarily an indicator of how educational sex ed really is. Too much instinct involved.

While I agree that sex ed should be taught in school, perhaps the parents should also be involved in and take some responsibility for teaching their kids about sex. Especially if they are in an area where the schools are teaching abstinence only...

I agree. People like him, Hannity, and any number of extreme conservative talk hosts, are a cancer on our society. But what are we to do? People listen to these fools and hang on their every word as though they are some great bastions of truth.

Maybe they know they can afford the kids thanks to knowing they'll get help from the government/taxpayer to pay for them. Heck, just yesterday I heard a story of a couple "wanting to pop their kid out early" so they could qualify for a tax credit this year.

While I dislike Rush, his analogy has some merit.

Birth control isn't free. Someone or some entity has to pay for it. General tax payer funded items have general "use" by the public (roads, police protection, voting, etc.). If tax payers will be funding birth control, he wants "use".
