Find comfortable ear buds suitable for travel!

I will be doing quite a bit of traveling soon and need a good pair of ear buds. the ones that came with my ipod hurt my ears after an hour of usage.

Thanks! Hoping to find a pair less than $15 if possible.

Any headphones will be more comfortable and probably sound better than Apple buds.

With that, I'd look into something with rubber tips that partially insert into your ear if you are only interested in earbuds. I personally use Shure earbuds, but something like this looks pretty comfortable:

Most earbuds will bother your ears after a couple of hours though, so don't expect amazing things.

There are earbuds, that sit in your ear like the factory Apple ones, and then there are in-ear monitors (IEMs), which insert into your ear. If you are sitting on a bus, plane, etc. then you will want IEMs instead of earbuds, as they block out sound. What is your budget? I agree that Shure are very good quality, as are Klipsch, Ultimate Ears, Sennheiser, Westone, Etymotic, and Audio Technica. I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

If you buy Comply earbud tips (I know for sure they sell them at Radio Shack) you don't have to worry about discomfort. They're pillowy-soft so they don't become uncomfortably like the silicone tips that come with most earbuds. The downside is that you have to periodically replace them.

'MEElectronics M9P In-Ear 3.5mm Headphones.' They go on sale a couple of times of a month for around $10 on Newegg and amazon. They are awesome. Very comfortable and you can change out the tip if the stock size is not comfortable.
