What I and Deus are saying is that when you count stock market movement when X is in office, the dot-com bubble burst under GWB. This makes Clinton look exceptionally good from a statistical standpoint. The Great Recession (as it is called) also bottomed out under Bush with recovery (in stock prices at least) being pretty good under Obama.
So if you are making the argument that having X in the white house is better for the stock market, it can be almost single-handedly explained by the enormous growth in the 90s and that the stock market crashed twice under Bush.
You'd have a point if the Dems and Reps switched rankings when GW Bush and Clinton are excluded, but that doesn't happen. Even removing Hoover's record doesn't make the Reps beat the Dems. And while you're crediting GW Bush for Obama's stock market, you may as well equally validly/invalidly credit Carter for the Reagan market.
Why can't anybody here show that Republicans have been better than Democrats for the economy or investments, even mere coincidences?
Your original statement that a "watered down" bill is "the bill they wanted" is wrong.
Whether Dems want to keep the bill for which they had to settle, is a different issue.
Typical of your habit of disingenuousness, spin, and outright bs.
Did Democrats want to pass this Obamacare bill or not? Obviously they did or they wouldn't have pulled out every dirty trick and backroom deal to pass it. If they didn't want it, they could have just took the day off like usual.
And you have the gall to claim it's me playing sematic games....
That's what you do. spin spin spin.
Anyone who argues about what you've been arguing about for as long as you've been arguing about it should be able to see the different meaning that can come up when false quoting me like you did. And if you can't see the difference, then you should stop arguing the rest of what you're arguing because you probably can't see the difference there either.
Besides, it also shows you straight-up misquoting me and misrepresenting me. And that after you not only got on your horse about misrepresentation, but also after you said, "No wonder you're having trouble when you can't even remember what you wrote and I even quoted it twice." I remembered what I wrote just fine. It's you, after quoting me twice, who still couldn't remember.
It was you who narrowed the discussion to the healthcare reform bill.
Not at all. Dems passed the stimulus bill too. But I guess even with all that time spent on it and not giving Republicans a chance to even read it Dems didn't want to pass that $800-billion-dollar bill either....
Just because they may have wanted something else more doesn't mean they didn't want what they passed. It's pretty hard to take over 1/6th of the national economy if you don't want to.
