...the fact that they are capping their LTE at that low, when practically no one is using it right now, shows how much att sucks. Verizon launched unlimited campaigns when they launched their LTE network, and have upheld it until now with no throttling.

Because Verizon knows how to run a network. at&t knows how to grab your cash.

Never choose at&t. Good choice on Verizon though..did you use the trick as stated in Hot Deals that's going around right now? Or did you TOL an unlimited plan from someone else? My problem with the thing in Hot Deals is that they are cracking down on it now so I'm not sure if they will start backtracking on any of it since a few big major sites have posted instructions on it (Engadget, Gizmodo etc.) a bit, but Verizon aren't assholes like at&t so we'll see how that pans out.

Hopefully down the line I'll be able to get a TOLed Verizon unlimited plan sometime later this year. Verizon has covered most of my area in LTE but not at home..yet. It'll probably be the new "SERO"

ya, ATT is very evilish, but the skyrocket with LTE was very sweet and tempting
i got it through the loophole...when we saw that it was posted on those big sites we thought it would be dead right away, but it still seems to work for some people (the ones that can't get it are the ones trying with the iphone (we don't like the iphone anyway!))
so if you get one soon, you might as well try it, but yeah, it's impossible to tell if we will be able to keep it...in my monthly statement it does show that I have unlimited data and that I am paying for it, so not sure if they would have a basis for removing it without being a breach of contract (specially since it has been already in 2 or 3 statements) - something along the lines of a price increase where you didn't' complain in the first 30 months after the change


Also, i just found out this week that the rezound is a global phone even though Verizon says it is not (they aren't angels either), i will try it one of these days

...but I can see why they never advertised it...it never made it through the FCC which is a big no-no especially for someone as big as Verizon and HTC.

Companies that never even sell certain models of their phone in the US (or don't even have a presence in the US at all), also go through FCC validation, because of the "possibility" it might be used in the US at some point.

HTC may have farked something up..they copy&paste a lot of their stuff between GSM/CDMA devices.

(like for example on my Sensation from T-Mobile..in HTC's secret diagnostic menu, I can choose "CDMA or EvDO only" even though it does not have the radios to even support it. Same goes for my Evo 3D having "GSM and WCDMA only" options).

Anyway it's cool someone just said "Fark it..let me try putting a GSM sim card in the LTE sim slot" to see if it worked, and it magically did (but since SMS doesn't work, I'm guessing it was never intended to allow this).

Yeah, I need unlimited text messaging, unlimited data, and Sprint's google voice integration is icing on the cake because it gives me free calls to Canada. Don't have to use any apps or mess around with call-back numbers, it "just works".

I have unlimited non-throttled data on my Elevate hotspot, but it's on an office-wide shared plan and I don't want to know what they're paying for each line.

i noticed that too about the EVO 3D ,but since there's no place for the SIM then we know that GSM is not in there, the rezound has a lot more options.... Not sure if they would get in trouble with the FCC, but several people have already tried it like you probably already saw, and some in the US, so....we'll see

good to see that is working well for you. So far google voice is working fine for me, let's keep the fingers crossed...sms is not through the native app, but it doesn't make much of a difference... in the office I could never get 4G and most of the time even 3G, so that was a deal breaker for me...with verizon I sometimes get LTE inside the office but at least some decent 3G

You can always have your messages forwarded to your phone if for some reason you want to use the native SMS app (they come in with an additional assigned number though. So they won't match your contacts..but you'll see what I mean if you activate it through your Voice settings).

It's nice to have if you have a device that doesn't have the Google Voice app but still want access to your messages.

but...are they forwarded using the webz or the sms system? cuz I think if they are forwarded, will get charged for all those messages...just by trying to active google voice from my device used 5 messages in 5 failed tries. I finally ended up addinig my number online manually and then google called me to verify the number

I just received my phone (actually, it arrived last week, but I was out of town). In summary: I'M VERY DISAPPOINTED... !!!

Item arrived in a standard UPS Express Box. Inside was a single small yellow padded envelope. In the envelope was ONLY the phone, with no cables, manuals... nothing!

I am in the process of doing an RMA. I will reserve final judgement until the RMA process is complete, but at this point I am concerned and yes, very disappointed...

wow, 109 bucks for a POS... I was thinking it'd just be scratched up, not missing parts.

That looks terrible, hope your return went well. What product grade was it rated?

Thanks for such a thorough reply. I guess yours didn't have a more specific grade then. When I click "Choose Best Available" now, I see a list with different grades, for example:

Product Grade:
4 - Significant scratches or scuffs


Product Grade:
6 - Some fine scratches or minor scuffs

Wondering if the 6 is worth a try...
