There's no esata on this. The drive in there, if newer stock will be a ST2000DM001 7200rpm drive, if old stock, will be Barrachcuda LP/Green ST2000DL001/ST2000DL003. If you get the ST2000DM001, it's not bad, the internal drive sell for $130+. But of course I would wait for my go to hard drive supplier, Staples, to go down in price before biting...Funny how Staples has been my drive dealer for the past few years, lol
