What to do with my money? (20 Year Old)
I've been working as a commissioned sales associate at a retail computer store earning around $1800-2400 a month after medical and taxes. In May its going to be a year I've been there. My expenses are:
Rent- $500 a month
Car Lease- $200 a month
Phone- $85 a month
Student Loan- $250 a month (it has around $2700 left at 4.5%)
I also pay for my own food and gas and that amounts to around $300 a month. That leaves me with around a thousand a month I am able to save. I opened an IRA and for the past two months have been contributing $200 each and plan to keep doing so. Only problem is I have no idea where to start investing that money in. Any one have any ideas on what I should be doing in terms of saving for retirement? Should I be paying off my student loan faster? I have around $4000 in my savings account and $2000 in stocks with TTWO hoping I can make some money once GTAIV is released, but thats about it for my investments.
Any tips for the youngin'??
