So I got approved for the Chase Freedom card and I also want to apply for the Amazon card at some point. Does it matter when I apply for the card? For example, if I apply now for the Amazon card, will my chances of being approved decrease since I just applied and got approved for my first card in 5 years? Do I need to wait until I've established some history with the Chase card or does it not matter? Thanks.
Chase will automatically deny you for the Amazon card if your last credit card application (for the Freedom card) was less than 30 days ago. Probably best to get a second credit card from another issuer (e.g. BOA, Citi, AMEX)
Chase is actually the one behind the Amazon card. I spend a lot of money on Amazon, so I figured it was worth it since you basically get 3% on all Amazon purchases.
But more importantly. Will the fact that I just applied (and got approved) for my first credit card in 5 years have an impact on getting this card? I understand that my score is slightly lowered every time I have a credit pull, but does the fact this its so close to the last one also have an effect? Thanks.
I thought the GE was the issuer of the Amazon store card.
