Get $40 Enterprise credit for $20 on Discover Cash back redemption

Do you guys remember when the Shell gas card deal with Discover cash back deal was last year? I hope they bring it back this year too. That would be sweet.

Ok, as others have pointed out here, this has been around since ages. Just FYI similar offers are also available for other companies like Alamo and National. Also, it is useless as you cannot use it with any other promo (like Costco rates or airline miles etc,) which usually work out to be a better deal. You also have to call Enterprise directly with the gift certificate so you won't get any of your Expedia or Priceline rewards. Overall, I'd say use your cash rewards for something else.

Yep, the deal killer is not being able to combine these certificates with discounts/coupons. I actually tried using the Enterprise one before. Get this, I reserved a car for Fri-Mon (usually cheapest) without using or clicking on any discounts. The rates came up saying "special offer" anyway. Because of that, they said their system won't accept my certificate because it was a "special offer" even though I didn't use any discount code!! Went to 2 different locations, same result....and no, it wasn't the $9.99/day deal neither! So I ended up returning the certificate to Discover

Alamo and National have multiple fields for discounts/coupons, and I wonder if their systems would actually let you combine the certificates with other discounts (even though they're not supposed to). Has anyone tried?
