5000 bonus sony reward points for redeeming 5000 points

I'm trying to find out in PSN cards count as a gift card. I need to feed my Rock Band collection...

Bleh... everything is so over priced, and taxed too boot. And then freakn site is slow and buggy.

26K points total for the Vita WiFi.... pretty tempting since nothing else is really intriguing... anyone else in a similar predicament?

Let me make sure I have this straight:
1 - I sign up for the PlayStation credit card
2 - make a purchase
3 - get 5,000 points
4 - redeem the 5,000 points on Sony Rewards
5 - get another 5,000 points
Correct?

Also, how many points is the Vita? It doesn't tell you unless you log in?

*Edit* Looks like the WiFi Vita is 26K points. Which is basically $260. That's more than MSRP. Lame.
What about the 3G Vita?

Can't browse rewards on their site now. Maybe slickdeals effect.

Yeah I guess. I'm just wondering if its worth signing up for a credit card to get what amounts to $100. And the $100 are only spendable on Sony Rewards' overpriced stuff. I'm waiting for some super sweet deal to push me over the edge and give me an excuse to get the Vita.

Bonus points take 2-4 weeks. I just bought the PSN card because it's not a gift card. If they give me problems I'll give them hell.

Agree with qwertyaas: SonyRewards card (issued b CapitalOne) is no longer a sweat deal as it once used to be (when Chase had it). With some luck you can get a Citi card that offers up to 50,000 points ($500) after some min spending withing 3 months time (ex. 2500 within 3 months). If this fits your spending habits (I am assuming the card is paid off every month!) this would be the card to sign up for. SonyRewards no longer offers rewards once it used to and the SonyRewards items are generally overpriced. I have had the card for 3+ years and witnessed its slow decline.

Yeah, it was nice when you could do the minigames to get up to 450 points a week for just spending a couple minutes a day (although I found out about that a couple months before the end of it).

Now I'm probably just going to get a PS3 game to flip it. Uncharted and Twisted Medal seem like the best choices for that actually.
