Sprint Iphone 4S unlock process

I broke my contract due to the terms and conditions change from sprint side. I am trying to know process to unlock sprint iPhone 4S for domestic use. I know they unlock for international use. Has anyone been successful in unlocking the iphone for domestic use?

Won't an international unlock work for domestic too? Unlock is unlock right?

one guy on the forums claims he pulled it off, but i seriously doubt it.


op, have you tried a ATT sim? I hear that the early ones were never relocked.

I tried a T mobile sim & ATT, it didnt work. Will a complain to AG office or BBB work? As the contract is technically fulfilled they shouldnt they let go the device?

You could call Sprint and just..ask.

I just left Sprint and the lady was very nice about it and said to call back to make sure I got my last bill waived (I did sort of leave on good grounds though). I also got an email from Dan Hesse asking me about why I left. I'll be sure to let him know in excruciating detail how much his network sucks ass

Tried that as always it was the great customer service

even if they did unlock the phone, wouldn't it still be a CMDA phone, i.e. AT&T and T-mobile won't work anyways? basically Verizon is the only alternative?

Nope iPhone 4s is a world phone and will theoretically work with gsm providers

All 4s are world phones.. I have a sprint but it still has a physical sim card. If i remove the sim card, sprint connectivity is lost...CDMA is somehow tied into the sim

CDMA is not tied really but the OS might not be happy and what not.

I was able to jailbreak using Absinthe v0.4 but nothing for unlock

The only way I know of to unlock a Sprint 4s is with a sim imposter such as R-Sim. There's different versions depending on what IOS version you're currently on.
