I was just looking into buying flax seed the other day. These got really good reviews but were a bit expensive so I passed. Defenitely in now. I like that I can freeze them to lock in the nutrients.

That is why I have to pass on this. I just don't use them enough to keep 4 packs around for so long. usually $4+ a bag single at my grocery store same brand, so it's only a few dollars off for this multipack. Last edited by stailcookie; 03-07-2012 at 08:59 AM.. |

I'd recommend you buy the flaxseed meal instead, which is just ground-up flax seed. Flaxseed is pretty hard to grind up yourself and eating them whole doesn't do you as much good since they're really hard to digest intact. Although, the discount isn't as much, so you'll have to decide for yourself if it's worth it.

They must be ground up to get any nutritional value, you can use a cheapo coffee grinder to do it.
ive been doing a carb free muffin in the mornings with ground flax seed, 2-3 spoon fulls of splenda 1/4 spoon of non processed coconut oil (virgin) 1 egg 2 heaping spoons of flax meal 1/4 spoon baking powder Cinnamon to taste mixed well in a large coffee cup, and nuke it for a min. pop out your healthy muffin and let it cool for a min or so and enjoy, taste like a multigrain muffin takes about 3 min to make, since your pretty much eyballing it you can add fruit or honey or the agave if your wanting to mix it up, but for a quick and fast snack it hits the spot |
