Really? I think you were looking back with selective memories. The 40man raids were much easier than the hardmode bosses. The reason it seemed harder was because it was harder to organize 40 people than 25 people (also made it more fun with lots of people chatting but at the same time things were less efficient) and most people just started the game and have no idea what they are doing. I also remembered all the awful fedex quests in vanilla wow. No sir, those were not a blast.

I remember a lot of people saying trolls were pretty gimp back in the day.

Guess this is decent incentive for someone who's only reason not to go back to WoW was having to level a toon. Not so in my case, but hey.

There is a limit of 2 Scroll of Resurrection invitations per day per account if you use both sending options (in-game & through battle.net account management). Additional info added to wiki.

Its pretty obvious that Blizzard is not liking everyone quitting. I don't blame them.

Blizzard has 9 million subscribers left, 7 million of which are asian accounts paying $1/month.

Losing nearly a million $15/moth US accounts in 2011 really bit them in the ass. This is a pretty tricky way for them to lure people back.

A shame they removed vengence in pvp for tanks/prot classes. Absolutely tragic.

so............. waiting for GW2... bye bye monthly fees! Someone mentioned microtransactions.. but I could care less for them. If others want to buy armor colors and whatnot, that's fine with me.

I mainly stopped WoW because of the monthly fees. There's always a debate about it... "oh but you save by not going out"... but that's not my view.

Unlikely - they are just looking for new growth opportunities. Acquisition costs of new customers is high vs people who have already played.

WOW is a sinking ship? I think not. Its just a matured product that will throw off cash for years into the future.

This is a way for them to bring back folks who have level 50s or 60s and don't feel like playing for dozens of hours to get connected back with their community. They are just minimizing the hurdles for customers they already had to return to the game.

no you need to have been inactive for a certain period of time (I think its 2 months) AND you had to have been a paying customer at one point.
