Blizzard has been spamming me in my email the past couple of weeks to renew my subscription which my account has been idle for a couple of years, now all of a sudden all these incentives? Yeah, Blizzard is on its last breath before GW2 takes majority of its subscribers. No subscription to play a great MMO for free is Slickdeal! :]

Wow subscription suffers due to new games coming out (such as SWTOR) and negative changes to their game. Countless 25 man guilds dissolved because Blizzard made 10man raid loot same as 25man loot, so now your middle of the road 25 man guilds become pointless and the only the very top guilds are doing 25 man for bragging rights. All game comes to an end, even if Wow fails now, they still did good for 6 years, that's a long time for any game.

Why is it that people automatically assume that there are no social interaction in game and its a game played by people who have no social life? The game introduces you to different personalities all over the country. People can meet in real life if they choose to. The in game friendship can develop into real life friendship. You can talk to people outside of the game. People can organize guild meetups every year. Its no different than the way how you would meet people at parties, work, and school.

Hopin' one day WoW becomes free to play. When it first came out (after a few patches obviously) it was by far one of the most fun MMOs I've ever played. The first time experiencing Iron Forge, Orgrimmar and Stormwind... I was amazed. Back then, the game was somewhat challenging, world PvP was pretty common (ganking FTW!), raids consisted of 40 man dungeons and were HARD, and questing was an absolute BLAST.

Now, everything is handed to the players. It's unfortunate to see WoW in this state. Time eventually will ruin a game (including community and developers).. and it looks like WoW has about expired.

If they opened a new realm, no transfers allowed, and everyone had to start over at level 1 again... I'd definitely resub. Until then, looks like I'm just stuck with the good memories of what it once was.

I played WoW for the 30 day trial and it was such a waste of time running fetch quests and killing X amount of monsters, finding X amount of drops etc. Then move to a new area rinse and repeat til you level up. I couldnt believe they wanted me to pay $15 a month when the majority of your time if spend doing mindless busy work like that.

Guild Wars takes very little time to max out your level and it relies on skill and tactics instead of finding godly items to give you an edge. Plus theres no subscription fee so you dont need to feel compelled to get your moneys worth and play all the time
