Question about Video Card and my case

Thanks for the answers guys, the card fit just fine in the case.

However, it seems like whenever I'm running a game (like ME3) or have some kind of load on the GPU (even the windows index assessment thing) I seem to hear some squealing coming from my PC. I'm thinking it's probably coil whine or something, but just wanted to ask if it could be a problem or its just a sound ill have to live with?

Check to see if any of the cables are being pushed into another fan, or if everything is seated nice and snugly. Worst case scenario, you have a bad fan on the card.

Umm no, i'm pretty sure the worst case scenario was already well established in post #3.

is it just video applications or does it happen when everything loads. i know back in the old days, you used to hear squeels/noise form your speakers if the IRQ settings were messed up.

Everything seems to be good, nothing is even close to getting in the way of something.

The fans seem to be working well, but the noise happens even when the fans are completely turned off.

When I'm playing a game on it, the noise is a high pitch squeal when the FPS is high (100 fps or so). However, if I turn on vsync, the noise lowers, and changes to a more...buzzing sound.

Might it be your monitor? Perhaps maybe your connections are loose?

Do you use HDMI for audio + video? Check thzt if you do

Maybe the ball bearing on the fan of the card is messed up somehow? That's the only moving parts on a video card. Capacitors and resistors don't make noises Try blowing some air near or around the fan and make sure the fan blades doesn't touch the heat sink around it

If you ordered from Amazon, you can have them send you another card while you hold on to your current one, and they give you 60 days to send the other card back. In that 60 days you can play around with Xfire and see if it's something you might be interested in. If the noise goes away, and you decide you want xfire, then just keep the card and they will charge you (I believe) the cost of the replacement when you decided to do the exchange.

Note: I'm not saying to abuse the system, but it might be worth a try, if anything, just to see what it's like to have a powerhouse. Also, the 60 day window might be smaller, but I think that's what it said when I was returning my 6870 (and instead got a 6950).

Well, looks like whatever it was, it's now gone. No longer hear any type of sound, even on furmark.

I also unlocked the shaders by using a modded bios, however, has anyone been able to unlock the CCC limits with the latest driver?
