EVO 3D screen cracked

Dropped my phone (with an otterbox commuter) and the screen shattered. No insurance and not up for a new phone for a while. The options I have considered are:

1. Send it to somebody on ebay and have them fix it for $50 (trustworthy?).
2. Buy the repair kit on ebay for $20 and do it myself (seems kind of difficult).
3. Take it to a local phone shop for repair @ $120 (pricey).

I've been a sprint customer for 9 years and I brought it to their corporate store to see if I could pay them to fix it and they told me to suck pole.

Anybody have a similar issue that can offer any advice? Thanks!!

i'd try to fix it myself personally.
Maybe you're eligible for upgrade from sprint?

if not i'd try replacing it myself 1st, if not i'd just buy a used one.

Try it yourself first. Sometimes these things are easier than you think once you get over the initial intimidation. Take your time, watch the youtube videos, read the tutorials, etc. and take a deep breath. If you mess up, as long as it isn't too bad, you can still send it to someone to fix.

4 months back I bought a nice used EVO 4G for $160. Even if you can't get your 3D fixed and replacing is too much, you have other options that are just barely more than your most expensive repair option.

Let us know how it goes. Make sure you read/watch as many tutorials as possible. They always show different angles and provide different tips.
