Foursquare/Amex promo is back again, this time $5 for $5. (Small businesses)

Once again, the Foursquare American Express partnership has returned: Spend $5, Get $5 Statement Credit at small businesses nationwide. In the past this has applied only to restaurants, but this time around it appears other small businesses are included (I'm seeing community theatres, bars, gift shops, salons/hair cutters, and bodegas near me.)

From Foursquare:
Shop Small to support small businesses! No need to show your phone - just load this offer to your synced Amex Card: Spend $5 or more in one purchase at a participating small business and get a one-time $5 statement credit. Purchase must be made within 24 hours of offer load. Statement credit fulfilled by Amex and processed within 3-5 business days. Limit one $5 credit across all participating merchants.

To redeem:
1. First, sync your Amex with Foursquare, through the app or at https://sync.americanexpress.com/
2. Check into a participating small business using the Foursquare app, the special will unlock.
3. When asked to load the special onto your card, be sure to do so.
4. Spend $5 or more, at that location, using your American Express, within 24 hours.
5. Wait 3-5 days for your statement credit!

Some tips:

• As in the past, also check bagel shops or delis in case you just want a snack.
• The quickest way to find participants near by: in Foursquare, click "Explore," and then "Specials." You can fine tune the options, but this will show up to thirty specials within the radius you choose. Participating merchants will show an Amex logo. You can also check Foursquare.com's explore tab for this.
• The credit is, as in the past, eligible only once (but this promo seems to pop up more and more) so in order to redeem more than once, you'd have to sync a different Amex card to a unique 4sq account. A one-to-one relationship must occur between each card number and each account (even if names are the same on other card numbers.)
