GUN DEAL: Smith & Wesson BODYGUARD 380acp w/ Laser - $331.52 + FREE SHIPPING! @ GunBuyer.com

The deal from last week had this gun for $339 and a number of individuals got in on it (including me). I noticed that on the front page of the website it now says that the price is $359. However, when you click on it and it takes you to the item detail screen and the price is listed as $331.52. Hands down the cheapest price for this gun anywhere! Especially with the Free Shipping, No Credit Card Fees (and if you are not in FL, no sales tax).

The website is new (only a few weeks old) and has some room for improvement. However, my item arrived in 4 days to my FFL and shipped from Florida Gun Exchange (owner and of the website and a huge FFL store in Florida). Google their store. It is huge and positive reviews.

For anyone who has dealt with this seller, how much have you had to pay the local dealer in addition to the price. It looks like $25-50. Is that right? Is this a deal breaker?

There are some FFL dealers on this site they may be able to help you. However, my experience is as follows:

Big Box stores such as Gander Mountain is not worth it. My local GM is $79 transfer.

Smaller FFL dealers are much better. Anywhere from $25 up but I won't pay over $35. My local FFL charges $27 plus $8 for the background check for a total of $35.

I don't think it is a deal breaker because even if you buy it in your state you will be charged a background check fee. The $25 transfer is less than I would have paid in tax at my local shop. Not to mention they charge $75 more for the gun!

Thanks waterford. Do I call local dealers and ask what they charge for transfer fees? Or do you have suggestions on shopping this?

Find a local fireearm site (e.g. Seattle Guns, Cal Guns, etc.), usually there are threads/posts on where to go to. Gunbroker also has a list of FFLs.

I called around. Prices varied. The local Big Box stores or larger sporting goods stores charged around $45. However, I checked with a Gun and Pawn that was very close to me and the transfer was only $15. We have recently done 3 transfers with them. No problems whatsoever.

Bought 3 guns from gunbuyer last week and they cancelled 1 and only shipped 2. Said they were out of stock - they need to keep their stock a little better.

I agree. As I said before, their website leaves quite a bit to be desired. They still have no contact info listed and most items show 'out-of-stock'. However, with their prices being much lower than other websites and definitely lower than my local dealers, I will continue to order from them for now.

I'll give em that - the prices are good.

I don't really like their purchase structure. I was give the opportunity to put in an FFL # when I bought the guns, but they never asked for a copy of the FFL at any point, even though I left a message in the purchase details saying I could provide a copy of the FFL.

Then, a week later, I received an email stating they didn't receive my FFL. They never asked!

I'd have just told them to forget it but it was a Taurus Judge for $299. Hard to beat.
