Moving from NY to California...
Short and sweet: I might be moving from NY to Cali in a few months as my significant other will be attending a two year program there.
I'm looking for any and all advice regarding this transition: general input and feedback, information regarding daily/monthly/yearly expenses, and so on. And, of course, any slick "deals" or "approaches/tactics" to have in my pocket. I know California is in a state of limbo in many aspects, and the fact that cost of living (food, gas, etc.) is rising certainly doesn't help.
Things to keep in mind:
-I do not currently/have never owned car. We might get one car from her family, but most likely will have to get another one...
-There are a handful of possibilities in terms of what I can do for part time and/or full time employment, but I have no real options at the moment. Not sure if it would be better to move over the summer or in the fall in terms of job searching, apartment hunting, etc.
I probably left out a few things I wanted to include, but this will do for now. I'm literally looking for any input...
Thanks!
