Deal Details

GrooVe IP is an Android app that lets you use Google Voice over IP, meaning you can call using data (wifi) and not minutes.

Google Play (market): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.snrblabs.grooveip
Amazon Appstore: http://www.amazon.com/snrb-Labs-GrooVe-IP-Lite/dp/B007HA7A18

I have the app, and it is really useful. They finally came out with a lite version that is free. It has ads supporting it, plus a couple features are disabled:
  • 3G calling is removed
  • Native integration is removed (you have to use the app to dial; using the built-in dialer won't give you the option to call via GrooVe IP)
Otherwise, the lite app is fully functional. If I hadn't bought the app a while ago, I would have definitely gone with the lite version.

If you want the full version, it goes on sale from time to time for $2 from amazon app store.

Because Google voice uses your cellphone minutes. Yes, check it. It does.

Oh, I figured in your OP you said call over data.. no different than my Wifi Calling with TMobile, then (and I have unlimited minutes anyway, lol).

Thanks for the heads-up, OP. This is great for tablets that don't have a native dialer or 3G anyway.

I use the full version, 3G calling isn't even worth your time, wifi is good, especially if you have a good connection, expect skype-quality or maybe slightly better. Never had a dropped call but quality can fluctuate a bit.

Sorry about that. I clarified it a bit in the main post.

The full version is awesome. I used it while in Australia to make free calls home. Too bad wifi over there is horrendous...

Sure, just steal it.

Seriously? It costs less than a trip to McDonald's. How would you like it if your company found a loophole that allowed them to get away with not paying you? You'd probably quit your job, wouldn't you?

Now equate that to developers not making apps for us anymore. When you steal (or "sideload") apps, you're doing nothing but "helping" a developer to stop making apps altogether.
I bought the app
