Dishwasher on sale?
I've been watching the site for a few months now for any dishwasher deals. There have been Zero slick deals on dishwashers for quite a few months now. Seems the last time was around Black Friday. How often do dishwashers actually come up as Slickdeals?

Check at Lowes for a scratch/dent dishwasher. You can get a great deal that way if you have the time to wait for one. Or you could get a Lowes mover coupon for 10% off and buy one now. Just go to the Lowes moving website to apply for a coupon. It will take two or three days before you get the coupon via email. But be sure you're ready to buy right then as the coupon is usually only valid for 30 days. If you can time the coupon with a Lowes appliance sale, even better.
Happiness and depression are both feelings, just like joy and anger. It's not feelings that give us problems. It's what we do with them that makes the difference.

check all the stores for clearance items (Sears, Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot) whoever sells appliances. You might be able to get a good deal that way. I got a Bosch dishwasher from Sears for under $600. It supposedly was a $1200 dishwasher. Looks quite nice too.
The good thing about floor model dishwashers is they should never have been used since I doubt any store actually runs water to them to turns them on. Not like a floor model fridge which might be on for quite some time before you purchase it. check all the stores for clearance items (Sears, Best Buy, Lowe's, Home Depot) whoever sells appliances. Warning! Check out the flooring by your dishwasher to make sure of clearance. The home owners before us installed mexican paver tiles in the kitchen area (which I love) but they tiled IN the dishwasher.
The old one the legs had to be hacksawed off to remove it.....and I had to buy an ADA dishwasher with adjustable leg height. It had to be put in the space with the legs short and held up in place while the legs were adjusted. Very awkward. It was either that or redo my countertops which definately was not in my budget. Good luck! Thanks every day to all of you who help me spend so little!

About how much extra did you have to pay for your new dishwasher to get this adjustable leg height feature? Last edited by zzyzzx; 03-16-2012 at 06:45 AM.. |

Well, I made a simple mistake. I decided to stay within my small town and go to a local non chain dealer. I'm one of those that think we screw up when we put those people out of business and are only left with big box stores. When I went to buy it I got an inexperience sales person. He failed to ask about flooring (evidently this is not an unusual problem) and I'd never had to replace the dishwasher so I had no clue it could be a problem. I spent around 375 for the one I picked out and they just made an even exchange for the one with the adjustable legs. I basically ended up with what they had in stock. As long as it was black to match the other appliances I decided it was ok. On the inside it's stainless and much smaller inside than my ancient one that came with the house.
It's ok and I've gotten used to it but not sure I'd have picked this one if I'd had a choice. It does do a good job. My old one had just plain finally died, and I got tired quickly of hand washing everything. Once it was installed I called over my handiman because there was a gap on both sides and you could see that the idiots had installed the tile over some seriously ugly old carpet. My guy measured and went home to create some black painted strips for the sides and a panel for the bottom that hid the gaps and ugly stuff without a problem. Lessons learned. |

I know this might sound unhelpful, but consider hitting up craigslist or other sites. People are frequently getting rid of perfectly good dishwashers for a fraction of their value. That's where we got ours!
As for worrying about the used, look at it this way - if you get a $500 dishwasher for $100, even if it only lasts 1/5th of the time (and it should be fine, inspect it first) you break even. Anything over that is profit! Best of luck! |

I'm also in the market for a dishwasher. Been doing the rounds at Sears, Best Buy, Frys, Home Depot, Lowes, HHgregg, etc for clearance deals. Haven't found a decent deal yet.
