Not sure if you havnt been to the site in 2 years or something, but simple has been click-expand for a long time now and that functionality didnt change at all...

The only way you would've been sent directly to the thread is if you had javascript disabled.

It hasn't been two full years, when changes started you had the ability in simple listings to still make it a one click trip from the FP to the thread.

I think I figured out what's causing it. Any time I click on the "hidden/expired" deals on the front page (where it says "click here to expand") it starts suddenly taking me to every thread instead of giving the drop down if I click on a FP deal.

And then for some reason, it eventually goes back to normal after a day or two. Is there some setting I need to change on my end or is it something else?

Either we're talking about two different things, or you're confused, or I don't understand what you're talking about. But believe me, I am pretty aware of what changes we've made

The frontpage pre-2005 era was Deal Title and Content, directly on the page (as if it were expanded), after that it was titles only, and you clicked to expand the deal details, and it has been that way ever since.When we introduced Grid mode, that was direct to the permadeal page, which now also has a quickview.

The only way it would not have worked like that is if you had disabled javascript. And I can tell you for a fact that nothing we released in this latest update changed any of that functionality.

What browser are you using?

Pretty much always use IE and never disable scripts.

I must be getting old and senile then since you're saying that when you clicked on a FP deal it took you directly to the thread pre 2005?

That can't be so because when I bought my first plasma in Jan 2008 a click on a FP deal took you directly to the thread, that I remember well because I had to fight BB on the free 21" LCD for months afterwards.

IE might be the first problem. Do you use any other things like internet firewalls or antiviruses with internet protection?

The only way you can click a fp deal and get taken directly to the FP is if you have javascript disabled (because this is a failsafe incase you do). Otherwise its supposed to expand, and has done so for a very, very long time

Maybe JS was disabled, it was a work computer I was using a few years ago so that is a possibility, I like the simple list and being directly taken to the discussion thread. Guess I'm going to have to check to see if I can disable JS for specific sites as I loved that!
